John Sickels likes Jay Bruce

seriously
Is there anyone who doesn’t like Jay Bruce?
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Tim Byrdak
Maybe he does like him because Bruce is so awesome Tim’s name will live in infamy with Marty’s home run call.
Yeah, I think Jay Bruce made Byrdak relevant.

Actually, CMM would have won it had Bruce faltered

Wishful thinking, I like where your head is at.

The only thing that would have made that game better was
another 6 innings of scoreless ball.

OK, I would settle for runs being scored in all 6 innings.

No... no
I like scoreless baseball. I’m just saying if I’m gonna watch six more innings of baseball after nine innings I better have a delicious dirty 30 of Busch Light.

Stubbs was about a foot from making this discussion moot.

dunno if he will ever
hit significantly above 300 which will prevent him from winning actual MVP awards as a RF. But he could def lead the NL in homers and SLG some years ahead.
I think he could definitely hit .300
He had some contact problems last year and still hit .280. I think his vast improvement against lefties shows how much promise that he has.

Bruce actually hit rather well off of lefties this year.
If I remember correctly he hit better against lefties than Votto did.

He hit better against lefties than any other Red
save Ryan Hanigan. All these tidbits (and more!) in the MSP Reds Annual!

If he leads the NL in homers
He’ll definitely approach or exceed .300. He doesn’t K any more than Votto does.

Bruce is able to hit 40 HR
as for strikeouts, he and Votto are essentially the same. I just hope he doesn’t get buried in the batting order.

by hitting a lot of homers, probably.
