Composite prospect rankings: Reds
With a big thanks to nycredsfan for compiling the rankings from the Big Three of prospect analysis (Baseball America, John Sickels, and BPro's Kevin Goldstein), here is a composite ranking based on those three lists of 20.
| Rank | Name | John Sickels | Baseball America | Kevin Goldstein (BPro) |
Average |
| 1 | Aroldis Chapman | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1.0 |
| 2 | Devin Mesoraco | 2 | 3 | 2 | 2.3 |
| 3 | Billy Hamilton | 4 | 2 | 3 | 3.0 |
| 4 | Yonder Alonso | 3 | 4 | 6 | 4.3 |
| 5 | Yasmani Grandal | 5 | 6 | 4 | 5.0 |
| 6 | Yorman Rodriguez | 10 | 5 | 5 | 6.7 |
| 7 | Juan Francisco | 6 | 7 | 8 | 7.0 |
| 8 | Zack Cozart | 11 | 8 | 7 | 8.7 |
| 9 | Kyle Lotzkar | 9 | 10 | 9 | 9.3 |
| 10 | Todd Frazier | 7 | 9 | 15 | 10.3 |
| 11 | Donnie Joseph | 8 | 13 | 12 | 11.0 |
| 12 | Ismael Guillon | 14 | 16 | 10 | 13.3 |
| 13 | Ryan LaMarre | 17 | 11 | 13 | 13.7 |
| 14T | Brad Boxberger | 12 | 18 | 14 | 14.7 |
| 14T | Junior Arias | 16 | 17 | 11 | 14.7 |
| 16T | Chris Valaika | 21 | 14 | 16 | 17.0 |
| 16T | Drew Cisco | 21 | 12 | 18 | 17.0 |
| 18 | Dave Sappelt | 13 | 20 | 21 | 18.0 |
| 19T | Daniel Corcino | 21 | 15 | 21 | 19.0 |
| 19T | Henry Rodriguez | 15 | 21 | 21 | 19.0 |
| 19T | DiDi Gregorius | 21 | 19 | 17 | 19.0 |
| 22 | Ronald Torreyes | 19 | 21 | 19 | 19.7 |
| 23 | Jonathan Correa | 18 | 21 | 21 | 20.0 |
| 24T | Kyle Waldrop | 21 | 21 | 20 | 20.7 |
| 24T | Sam LeCure | 20 | 21 | 21 | 20.7 |
Methods: I just averaged the rank of each prospect across the three evaluators. If a guy was not ranked in a list, I assigned him the rank of 21. The only exception was 2010 draftee Yasmani Grandal and Kyle Waldrop, who I assume were left unranked by BA and Sickels because of minimal playing time in the minors.
Anyway, hope you find it interesting. Looking forward to seeing the Red Reporter prospect list tomorrow!

That's the best prospect list the Reds have had in a very long time.
I love it.

yeah, I was wondering about this
why is Grandal only listed as ranked in one of em?

Sorry gang
I must have screwed up. Will fix in the am. That’s what happens when I stay in my spreadsheet and never check reality… -j

you are completely forgiven
this is an awesome post and I love that you did it.

Finally got it updated.
Minor shift, Yonder jumps ahead of Grandal. That’s probably appropriate, if for no other reason than based on professional PA’s.

The RR list is just a watered down version of BK and 'credsfan's lists anyway
Okay, I’ll stop.

These lists are ...
very informative and interesting. Thanks from a casual fan, which is me.
I am hoping to see Yorman and my man Hamilton this summer, hopefully at Dayton on their way to the GASP.
Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
You should check out the Kane County Cougars schedule and see when Dayton is passing through.

Middle of June. I checked. They are going to FtW after that.

John Sickels is my go-to guy for prospect lists
that’s what i pull from it. Also, love the depth of the system right now. Not sure if there are any All-Stars in that group, but it’s a solid group for sure.
