I bought my son his first pack of 2011 baseball cards yesterday. The next to last card in the pack was this card of Jay Bruce. It immediately became my favorite baseball card of all time (and I quickly stole/bargained it away from my son - six year old and baseball cards don't mix well).

His favorite player is Votto, and my favorite current player is Bruce. He knows this and is a very shrewd negotiator. One new Batman toy later, all is well.
Distantly related… I’m going to coach his tee ball team this year. When last season ended, we determined we’d be called the Bats this year. Now I need to see if I can get the league to get some knockoff Louisville t-shirts as uniforms. If that doesn’t work, we’re wearing the Batman logo.
I highly recommend the Batman logo.

I just explained...
that I needed to take it and put it somewhere special so that it doesn’t get messed up. Then I gave him a new Batman toy and he stopped asking about it. :-)
Oh, and he hates the Cardinals...
I took to calling him a Cardinal last year whenever he started whining about something. He got the message.
