What Red Reporter means to me
We talk about a lot of things on Red Reporter, some of it baseball related, although most of it not, and it’s the not that’s helped me get through one of the most trying times of my life for the last almost 9 months.
Without getting into something very painful and personal, I’ve found solace in Red Reporter as an escape from my personal Hell as a coping mechanism, a soapbox to vent, entertainment to take my mind off things, and lastly as a community where I’ve found some great people that have been there for me on many levels when I’ve needed people most and have had no place to turn. I find myself lost in CT with no family, and I’m often alone, yet in an odd and specially way Red Reporter’s become my family in a way.
Some RRs have listened to me cry, hugged me, taken calls at any and all hours of the day and night, been a sounding board for me, given me perspective, shared with me their life experiences, and at the end of the day been true friends.
All of it has meant the world to me and I honestly, truly, sincerely extend a personal thanks to those of you who have made every effort to be there for me, but I offer a global thanks to Red Reporter as a community as a whole. I can say that without this place I don’t know how things would be for me right now, but it certainly seems better than it could be.
Thank you again everyone. I know we don’t always see eye to eye on things, but that’s really how families are, right?
