Guess The Mystery Minor Leaguers Sweepstakes.
Two minor Leaguers have yet to named in the Marshall-Wood trade.
Two of our fine, young, innocent farm hards... are about to become chicken-fuckers.
The future value of these two fellas will go a long way in determining how we argue about merits of trade in the years between 2015 and 2025. So while we anxiously await who else we have to pay out of our still some-what glorious farm system, lets play the guessing game!
Choose 4 current minor leaguers, if you get both right, You Win!
I have tried to spread out my picks, I'm thinking the younger GM's are making Uncle Walt pay retail. Also the rash of AA+ bullpen reclamation contracts he handed out a few weeks ago brings me to this hardly thought-out conclusion.
My choices: Jefry Sierra, Tim Crabbe, Denis Phipps, Jordan Hotchkiss
Have fun, and play responsibly.

I don't get why we are selecting 4 and wining we get both right. Both of the 4?
I dont need 4 guesses. It’s Neftali Soto and Henry Rodriguez.
Also, cubs are hilariously cyclical.
They already had a Henry Rodriguez over a decade ago, had a Wood for about a decade, and currently have a Soto.
This would be awful.
Yonder is gone, have to think Soto is not getting traded. There’s no other 2B of the future besides Hank Rod.
Cody Puckett is a darkhorse candidate for me

that would make sense.

Prepare yourselves.
Phipps, Hamilton, Griffin, Gil.
Yeah, Hamilton. Did you think he was safe? No, Walt is all in, and plans on finding a new job next year.

I'll say...
one of Quinten Berry, Jordan Wideman, Stephen Hunt, along with Devin Lohman.
Trying to pull off "having no money and talking to no one" as well as the Reds have.
Phipps is blocked by Bruce in RF
Dorn is blocked at 1B by Votto and isn’t good enough to replace him if Votto leaves in a couple years.
And if he’s willing to part with BradBox, i don’t see why he would keep DoJo.
not yet
He will be next year.
However, he is eligible for Rule 5, and has been awhile. Anyone who wanted himn could have taken him,
Though if they want him in the minors and not on the 25-man roster, trading for him might make sense.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
The Rumor on the other thread is Travis Webb and Coddington.
But I thought Webb was a free agent after his craptastic AFL. and, another catcher? At this point we will have to sign someone just to fill the spots.
that makes sense to me
Matches the “not top prospects, but not zeroes” description.

Y'all don't give enough credit to Walt
I’d be shocked if they can sniff the top 20 list. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get a smidge of salary relief from the cubs as well.
I'm still calling that there's either salary relief, or an extension, or both.
It feels so nice to be back to normal
we'd miss him
if only for the walk-up music.

he already cut a lot of the AAA talent (Alonso, Grandal, BradBox)
i sure hope he doesn’t start chopping away at some of our best A level talent – especially not for a 1-year rental of a reliever who isn’t even a closer.
stop getting my hopes up
I really want LoMo

Jose Castro, Brandon Hynick, Nick Christiani, Clayton Shunick

Umm,
I think they all have potential to be a semi-useful piece on a 25-man roster. I definitely wouldn’t bet on any of them being average MLB players for an extended time though. Castro would be a throw-in, but I originally picked him because that name sounds so “Cubs player” to me.
The last three could be 5th starter types or decent bullpenners perhaps.

Well, if you thought my Henry Rodriguez and Neftali Soto prediction would have been a gut punch
It’s worse. Sappelt and Torreyes? Looks like a lot of folks around here still give their GM way too much credit. Walt’s in full panic mode.
