Either way, this situation is going to end badly.

He either gets “his” from the Reds and the team gets saddled by a contract that’s too big for what the team should commit, or they opt to not resign him and they get stuck with him being a malcontent.

Well done, BP. You’ve successfully established yourself as a diva.

Absolutely...

I always got the impression that his ego negatively impacted the clubhouse and so, I wasn’t his biggest fan. Then, with his emergence on twitter, I started to feel like he had matured and was embracing his relationship with the fans. His behavior in the last few months has shown it’s been an act.

Seriously, most people have jobs that aren’t guaranteed through the end of the day. BP will make more in the next year than most of us on this blog will make in our entire lifetime. This latest act of not showing up to Redsfest is a big middle finger to the fans.

Let’s assume the worst-case scenario for the coming year… the Reds don’t make any substantial trades for starting pitching and BP continues to be a cancer on the clubhouse. What does a 3-4 month rental of BP get us?

You’re getting paid millions and living the dream of tons of kids across the nation, then you act like a dick and do this?

That was a disgraceful performance, in my opinion. We threw that game, we gave it away. We gave them the fucking game. In my opinion, that sucked. What's that? Playoffs? Don't talk about--playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game!
