• I guess I’m really looking forward to seeing Captain America: The First Avenger. Though there’s still a few movies from 2010, like True Grit, that I’m looking forward to seeing this year.

• We need a LF (despite my love for Gomes). I’ll say Kevin Mitchell. His OPS in his time with the Reds was insane, nearly as much as he was.

• Hmm, who would I like to see that would sell out a stadium? The last “big venue” act I saw was the Flaming Lips at a place roughly the size of Riverbend. I think they would be amazing. They’d love the hi-def screen, and they could shoot confetti out of the smokestacks. I don’t know if it would sell out, but it would be an incredible show.

• I don’t really care about college basketball, but I always like to see Ohio State do well, so that’s who I’ll be rooting for. And it would tickle me to see you adopt the Buckeyes as your secondary team.

• I did! I own a signed copy and just everything. I like the happy ending.

UK is my alma mater and my team in college bball. Kanter ruled ineligible, but still a team that is dynamic enough to go deep in the tournament, and which has surprised me with how well they’ve played so far. They play great team ball and are lots of fun to watch – more fun than last year’s team with 5 NBAers on it.

Haven’t read Wire to Wire. The 1990 Reds just aren’t that interesting. Sorry Slyde.

Hard to answer the concert question. If they don’t sell out it won’t turn a profit, but if they do I’ll have to pretend not to enjoy it. Foo Fighters, maybe?

- I’m kind of tempted to go see Cowboys vs. Aliens because it looks so outlandishly ridiculous. I’d also like to see Hangover 2. Just saw True Grit the other day, and while I haven’t seen the John Wayne version, I enjoyed it.

- I’ll take Frank Robinson to play LF for us. Him or get Pete Rose to lead off or something.

- I probably wouldn’t get to come see anything at GABP anyway…

- Obviously, I’m rooting for Mizzou. They have a promising young team.

- I’ve read bits and pieces. Still need to sit down and finish the whole thing.

I don’t watch movies or TV that much, but I’m thinking I might tune in to The Onion’s new show, Sportsdome. It’s a parody of SportsCenter.

The lowly status of pro soccer in America is reflected in a brief segment where the anchors “catch up on everything that’s happened since we last checked in on the league — four years ago.”

• I’d enjoy some Yeungling at the ballpark, but if I can buy it cheap outside the park, I don’t know what motivation I would have to pay the premium that they would definitely put on it.

• Honestly don’t know what movie I’d like to see. My wife and I planned to see a movie last night after we used the Outback Steakhouse gift card we got as a gift, but it took us over an hour to get a seat (WTF?). So, we scrapped the movie, which is fine because we had no idea what we were going to see anyway. I’m looking forward to seeing both Inception and The Dark Knight (again) on my newly revamped BluRay home theater.

• Given the needs, I’d probably take either Frank Robinson or Barry Larkin on the current team. If I had to choose, I’d go with Larkin because of his versatility. He could bat lead off or second for us. The Reds are less in need of a big bopper in the middle of the lineup, though I wouldn’t thumb my nose at one.

• I’d book MC Hammer. Or Tone Loc.

• I haven’t been able to get into college basketball this season. I’m really looking forward to the return of baseball already.

• I have not read Wire-to-Wire. I keep meaning to, because I’ve never read it in continuous fashion, but it feels weird to me. I am reading The War for Late Night right now. Immensely interesting to see how NBC really fucked up a good thing.

• I don’t get the Yuengling hype. Its alright I guess, but there are literally hundreds of microbrew lagers available that are equal to or better than Yuengling. But, yeah, if it was on tap at GABP I’d drink it.

• “The Tree of Life” is probably the movie I’m looking forward to seeing most. Terrence Malick’s 5th movie since 1973.

• Larkin would be the best fit for this team in my opinion. As Bill James says, Larkin is one of the 10 most complete players in baseball history.

• Concert at GABP – Resurrect James Brown and Catfish Collins to reunite the original J.B.’s. Although the Flaming Lips would be a bit easier to pull off. They put on a show that you must see at least once in your life.

• Enjoying the fact that UC is back in the top 25, but that will probably change soon now that Big East play is in full effect.

• Haven’t read Wire to Wire yet. Read too many baseball books this summer and need to read some novels.

Sorry (no I’m not), but after last year’s playoffs do we have to suck anymore Philadelphia dick?

I’m looking forward to the 3rd Transformers movie, and I’m told I need to see True Grit yesterday. I honestly don’t know what else is worth seeing in 2011, but I’m sure someone on here will let me know!

This team needs a certain C by the name of Lombardi. Sure, Bench was a Hell of a C, but part of me wonders aloud if Lombardi was actually better offensively?

I have no idea who I’d go to see in GABP. The commute is a bitch for me. Maybe some sort of festival type show.

I’m rooting for Syracuse to win the Men’s Hoops Tourney this year.

-I’ll second Tree of Life. I saw the trailer last night before Black Swan (which by the way has the best dream sequence lesbian scene since Mulholland Drive). I’m still catching up on 2010 award season flicks.

-95-96 Larkin would fit in nicely.

-Jimmy Buffett? Ugh… I’ve never felt baseball stadiums are a good venue for concerts. The only decent one I ever saw was at Shea Stadium in 65.

-This was supposed to be the dream season when Northwestern finally makes the tournament. They’ve had a really bad start to conference play though…

-I haven’t been able to finish The Book Thief because things are getting depressing so I keep putting it down. I’ll go ahead and order Wire to Wire from Amazon and add it to my queue.
