Phillips, Freel (?!) descended on Muncie, IN
Though not a native Munciaean like Adam Lind, I've got some roots in Delaware County. So I enjoyed this little write-up in the Ball State Daily.
One child asked Phillips what college he attended.
"I attended the college of Major League Baseball," Phillips answered.
No word on whether Farney took questions.

I'm across the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore
This is our third ice storm this winter. I’m just gonna wait till Spring to clean up the limbs.

We're getting 15 inches of snow in VT, but no ice, thank god.

The news is saying the storm is going to straddle Columbus
So the north side of town will get hit hard with the ice, while the south side will get dumped with rain. I think I’m taking the day off tomorrow, regardless.

This is an image worth preserving
Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

Just rain in Southeast Ohio.
It’s even kind of warm, relatively speaking.

from 6am Tuesday to 6am Thursday. Ugh. Heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Accumulations up to 20 inches.

Hope I'm not out of line posting this here
Long time lurker, first time poster, yada, yada. Signed up just to tell you how much I like that Reds music video you posted. I have watched again and again. Great overview of the season. Especially on a night like this, when spring training seems about a gazillion years away. Thank you! It must have taken a long time to make.
glad you liked it
And welcome to RR!
It didn’t take that long. The benefits of swiping clips from MLB.com – they’re all organized by player and date. Unlike trying to make a video from your home video recordings.

link to the video please ? :)

It's
here.
I recommend downloading it rather than viewing it embedded, just because it’s such a large file. It’s compressed as much as the clips on MLB.com, but most clips on MLB.com aren’t 5 minutes long.

ps
Bonus points for guessing which two players from the 2010 active roster I couldn’t fit into the video!
And in a completely unrelated topic…ho-lee crap. Turrible weather today. I’d stay home, but I have a class today. Plus, they’ll plow me in and I’ll never get out.

I want to make a video
but I’m having all kinds of problems. Would it be okay if I asked you some questions? I need help!
sure
I’ll help if I can. E-mail me. My addy’s listed in my profile (click on my user name).
I can’t e-mail you, because you have not made your e-mail address public.

are you in Chicago now?
They’re saying it’s really going to be bad there.
Though someone on CNN said Indianapolis is going to be ground zero.

There is talk that the university may be shut down, not that it matters to me because i don’t have any courses this term. Although I do like the gym.

The other time was sometime between 1974 and 1978, then.
It happened while my Mom was a student there. She still talks about how she and her roommates sat out on their front porch telling everyone who passed that classes were canceled, but no one believed them. Ten minutes later, they’d all pass right by again, heading home.

guess that make three times, though techinally they didn't get it cancelled until like 10am

That’s pretty neat though- I lived in Muncie until I was 2.

i just listened to a talk on the history of Muncie and Ball State
apparently Ball State was donated by the Ball family which owned the Ball Jar company, and they donated the land to the state of Indiana to start a university.
Had no idea Ball State was named after Ball Jars.

I covered a football game in Muncie in 1997.
Ball State vs. Marshall. BSU’s plan was to take away MU’s running game and cover Randy Moss 1-on-1. Moss scored 32 points that day.

I remember reading something about BP a while back
I believe he signed a letter of intent to play football and baseball at the University of Georgia (SEC speed!). During a visit there, he expressed to the baseball coach his intent to start at shortstop. With his trademark humility, I’m sure. The coach told him he’d have a rough go of it because of the incumbent – Jeff Keppinger.
Aaand this is why my best friend who's not into baseball always liked Ryan Freel.
Also, she found the Farney thing highly amusing.

love it.
it’s commonplace in our household to say “F’reel?” and the response is “Ryan”. kinda dorky but at least she knows who he is.
