You never appreciated that we were willing to play along with your game. You are ungrateful!

and i mean, i dont want to overstate how hard it is. It’s not like a full-time job or anything. If anyone wants to do it, here’s kinda what you have to do:
1) Make the rules. Although you could just use the ones I already had in place. They seem to be working pretty well.
2) Make a list in a table once, and then copy and paste it each time you post an update.
3) Hound everyone who doesnt pay for the money. This year there were 22 players, and one didnt pay. Technically, per the rules, I should have let that person start the year on the list, but I started to make exceptions to make it easier and get everyone in, and that person, for whatever reason, just decided never to pay.
4) This is the trickiest part. You actually have to pay close attention to who dies, check against the lists, and then when you update, you kinda need to check the entire thing to make sure you dont miss anyone. Thats about 300 or so wikipedia pages to skim. I skip the really famous ones, since I would have heard if, say, Barack Obama had died. Once you do that, you have to add up all the points and make the descending list and copy and paste the original lists, noting who has died.
5) Youve got to be a dick sometimes and disallow entries who dont make the cut. Unless you want to open the game up to include everyone who gets an obit in, say, the new york times (which is everyone.) The problem with that, in my eyes, is that it stops becoming about celebrities and starts becoming about obscure old people. Your game, your rules, though.
6) I wasn’t very good about posting often enough, but ideally it should probably be updated once a month. I typically did updates once every three months, which probably isnt enough.
Thats all i can think of. If someone decides to do it and has any other questions, let me know.

i know the the checking the death lists parts is the most time consuming
but the money part is what would make me the most nervous, and is why I would never want to do this. I don’t like to be responsible for money.

and they should have to provide the proof based on your rules, it shouldn’t be up to you to have to scour and pay attention to who dies and check lists
