This day in Reds History- September 4
On this date in 1974 the Reds beat the Astros 2-1.
The Reds scored two unearned runs in the sixth inning without the benefit of a hit and Jack Billingham pitched a complete game to lead Cincinnati. As a matter of fact, the Reds didn't collect a hit against starter Don Wilson through his eight innings of work. Tony Perez broke up the no-hitter with a single in the ninth off of reliever Mike Cosgrove.
