This Day in Reds History - September 30
On this date in 1981 the Reds beat the Astros 5-2.
George Foster hit his 243rd (and next to last) home run as a Red and Mario Soto picked up his 11th win of the season as the Reds picked up their ML leading 65th win of the strike shortened season. Although they finished with the best record they were kept out of the playoffs due to the split season format baseball adopted.
