On this date in 1968 The Reds beat the Giants 3-0.
Vada Pinson and Leo Cardenas both picked up their last hits in a Reds uniform. Vada would be traded to the Cardinals, after the World Series ended in October, for Bobby Tolan. He left the Reds after 11 years, 1565 games, 1881 hits and a career slash line of .297/.341/.469 and OPS of .810. Cardenas would be traded to the Minnesota Twins in November for Jim Merritt.
