This Day in Reds History - September 24
On this date in 1980 the Reds beat the Padres 7-6.
Dave Concepcion hit a go ahead sac fly off Rollie Fingers in the top of the tenth inning to lead the Reds to the win. Concepcion was 0-for-4 in the game but drove in three runs with a ground out and two sacrifice flies. Doug Bair pitched a perfect inning to record the win. The three RBI by Davey are the most ever recorded by a Red without the benefit of a hit in a single game.

I keep forgetting the entire decade of the '80s re: The Reds
I had 4 kids, owned a music store and played out 2 0r 3 nights a week in my band…oh and the FMM had lost interest in The Redlegs ever since Joe Morgan was gone.

Maybe she’d like to visit him in the clubhouse now…Hmmmmm
If a guy hits .300 every year, what does he have to look forward to? I always tried to stay around .190, with three or four RBI. And I tried to get them all in September. That way I always had something to talk about during the winter.
