This Day in Reds History - September 20
On this date in 1967 the Reds beat the Braves 9-4.
Rookie Johnny Bench hit his first Major League home run to help the Reds to the win. It came in the sixth inning against Atlanta starter Jim Britton. Bench went three for five on the day. Vada Pinson got the Reds off to a 3-0 lead when he hit a home run following a walk to Pete Rose and a single to Tommy Helms in the top of the first inning.

What year was this game played..?
If a guy hits .300 every year, what does he have to look forward to? I always tried to stay around .190, with three or four RBI. And I tried to get them all in September. That way I always had something to talk about during the winter.
