NCAA Division I Open Thread
It's the first night of college football! Those of you who are Buckeye fans, you are especially in luck as the Buckeyes are playing their opener against the Marshall Thundering Turtles Herd. Having lived in basically the corner of Marshall and Buckeye country in my past, I know there are many in SE Ohio who are conflicted. As for me, however, I am a Buckeye fan through and through.
Feel free to comment here if you have any insights on Ohio State, Marshall, the Reds, Bengals vs. Colts (yawn) or life in general.

Marshall looks like they are really bad.

Not at all.
They need Chad Pennington/Byron Leftwich to come back.

Yeah. The 1999 team that went 13-0
could have hung with the Buckeyes. That team won at Clemson and was the first team since 1974 to hold BYU without a touchdown. A bunch of those guys went to the NFL, including one player in each of the first four rounds. MU finished 10th in the country. Ah, the good old days.

35-0 at the half. I'll take it.
(No, Marshall’s 7 points do not count.)

On a blocked FG attempt, so no, not really. ;)

So, during halftime, my dad switched to the Bengals-Colts game
I learned that Kevin Huber’s dad kicked for Xavier. How about that?

Keels called Pryor a sophomore earlier.
I’m convinced now that the man is on drugs.

My former roommate, one of my best friends since I was 4
played TE for Marshall and was the guy who crushed Santonio Holmes, blowing out his knee. It was a clean hit (I’ve seen it many times), and since the day Ted Ginn got drafted, we’ve always joked about how he paved the way for Ginn’s 1st round draft choice.
That was a 13-10 OSU win that day too, I think. That’s when Marshall was damn good, too…Ahmad Bradshaw & co.

Tough night for MU.
I’m happy for the Buckeyes, of course. The Herd has much work to do.
