A few things to begin this. This has been a tumultuous season for all of us here. We've lost a lot of folks who have been around since the beginning, and we've been riding Slyde's up-and-down year, and we've been celebrating his graduation to real-personhood. This year has also meant a lot to me, personally, for reasons that I have not yet been able to put into intelligible words. And I won't begin now.

There are plenty of folks here (I think of Brendanukkah, nycredsfan, thevole, and of course Man Mountain) who have far better taste in music than I do. However, on the busride back to my home today, I got to listening to The Silver Jews, and I thought that it fit where we are in the season so far.

I'm sick of the sniping against the other folks who wear red. I'm sick of the wish-we-coulds and oh-if-onlys. And I come not to bury these Reds, but to urge them on. 64-51 with 47 games left? Bring it on. Let's stop with the genitalia-measuring and celebrate what makes this team and our little blog unique with a Planet of the Apes 2 fan vid.
