This fanpost really should be a fanshot
and that fanshot really should really just be a comment.
I am thrilled for your success, hell I'm amazed by it. Nobody who knows you saw this coming.
no one's forcing you click the link
and if they are, they can probably also kill a goat just by staring at it, which, by the way, is a horrible storyline for a movie. it was just bad.
I don't like goats.
I don’t like Tony LaLoser
Ergo Tony LaLoser is a tired old Queen.

For the sake of argument...
I don’t like someone writing a fanpost basically saying that someone who goes through the trouble of helping remind us of our favorite team’s legacy every morning isn’t worthwhile.
On top of that, most fanpost’s display about the equal amount of intelligence, thought, and syntax of someone calling the Reds Post-game and/or bananaphone.
Lastly, the last fanpost to display is from 6 days ago. The official RR articles are usually cycled out in 1-2 days from the home-screen and any article, fanpost, or fanshot discussion is usually dead within 48 hours.
I apologize if this is a little rude, but I really get sick of seeing people complain with content which the site contributors put together for free, just because they like the Reds and like sharing their ideas and knowledge in this public forum.
Maybe I'm just being contrarian again, but it was just a suggestion.
And not particularly rudely made. Which is kind of saying something coming from this guy.
Also, no need to harsh on the other fanposts – I think most of them here are have been good lately. That said, I think you’re right – maybe it would make a difference if they were crowding all the other fanposts out immediately – or if the discussions stayed live for more than a couple days, but as it is – they all die long before they get pushed off the front page, so there’s really not really a need to change.
This team wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for all the losing.
actually, there was no way to make this suggestion without it being rude
he should have thrown in a “no offense”
for whatever the reason
i’ve noticed that not many fanposts are being posted this season.
maybe RR’s don’t want original content after all!
"Yahan Sentona's strikeouts are way down this year" Jake Liscow
We want original content...
We just want it provided to us… I’m as guilty as most here of being far more of a consumer than a contributor on this site. To you guys who put in the effort on this site, thank you… it is great to have an entertaining and informative blog to visit before/during/after a long day of work!
far less SIS than in years past
far more investment into the team.
Plus, the SIS master has been quiet.

I said "particularly rude"
Remember who we’re dealing with.
This team wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for all the losing.
We are not talking Bengals on this site.

Stop putting Reynard in the corner
I have not come here with the intentions of creating shenanigans in quite some time. Sometimes obnoxious young men develop into more informed, assholes that have something to contribute.

Nasty N8
I`ve been following the site a tad longer than you, and once upon a time the fanposts were a little more diverse. They are little daily blurbs that I believe should be all put into one weekly post to save space, or be given their own spot somewhere on the site.
It was a suggestion.
This Day
I didn’t take offense to the suggestion. This just started out as one of those one time posts and I have continued to do them. Fact is, I really enjoy looking them up and trying to find some of the more different, unusual, or historical games from Reds history. So with that being said I will continue to do them in the same manner unless Slyde, or the Moderators, ask me to switch it up.

even if I only read them sometimes, I like that you do it
and I think it’s pretty awesome that you do
You know I am your biggest fan Caleb
Sometimes I get up as early as 3am to see if the new ‘This Day’ has been posted.

I think that's borderline stalker behaviour.
"People don't kill people. Burning oreo packages kill people."
Behaviour??
We ain’t playing cricket here!
We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad. Otherwise, you wouldn't have come.
I brought this up earlier
Caleb-
Would it be easier on you to just do a ‘this week in Reds baseball’ on a Sunday or Monday, then we can rec it up to stay around for the week???
Just a big fan of consolidation here, kinda like the Reds on this date in 1974. I mean they could have spread the runs out, but they felt like sticking five together would be nice.
Anyone else have a thought or idea??

or here. My main reason being to keep fanposts up longer for those who don’t check in daily. Yeah the discussion may end on a fanpost after a few days, but some only get a chance to read-up and chime in once or twice a week.
Either way I appreciate Caleb’s hard work and don’t want it to stop.

I didn't really want to argue on what to do...
just thought it would be easier on Caleb and the casual RR readers.
Just goes to show Caleb is not a rec whore, just a man who loves history, Reds History. Pure labor of Love.

I didn`t bring up the suggestion in an mean way
I just used describing words. Justin you have a little angry twitch of bias against me, whenever I pop up and decide to voice anything. Fascist.
Having said that, Caleb, I do appreciate the information and work you put in, it makes the site more comprehensive.
Re: Mike Leake
I am thinking he should take the long man role out of the pen. As great as he has been, I no longer have the same confidence when he starts. The long role will rest his arm but still provide his services when necessary. AAA seems pretty useless for someone who has proven they can handle MLB batters.
by jacob brumfield on Aug 12, 2010 2:00 PM EDT reply actions
Yeah.
I really think that might be a legitimate option. I’d kind of feel bad if he didn’t get to contribute to the stretch run too, after being one of our best pitchers earlier in the year.
"People don't kill people. Burning oreo packages kill people."
exactly
it would feel wrong to demote him to AAA, but in the Long role he can rest his arm, pick up some PHs, and I am sure there will be spot starts as the season progresses.

He`s definitely shown what he can do
He just falls apart recently, you don`t want to give his confidence a shot by sending him down. But I think Walt uses our Triple A system a lot better than other GM`s in the past. It gives more of a “if you go down and work hard to perfect your game, you`ll be back”
I love this day in Reds history
it’s the first thing I look at when tuning into RR.
I think M. Leake would be great in the long reliever roll for the rest of the season. It’s after the batting order sees him more than once that he’s getting into trouble.
I'm not saying it's ideal
but they need to cut back his innings and lately he’s been hittable the second time through the order. I’m sure it kinda sucks for him.
I was joking on your misspelling of the word "role"
I think Leake as the long reliever is a viable idea. I’m neither for nor against it at the present time.
ohh
yep-I’m the worlds worst speller. I’m also not very computer savvy. I’ll ask my kids to show me the spell check feature.
