This Day in Reds History - July 17 & 18

On July 17 1990 the Reds beat the Expos 6-2.

 

On July 18 1990

the Reds beat the Expos 8-7.

 

Go Reds!  Congratulations to the 1990 World Championship Team and the Hall of Fame inductees, Chris Sabo, Pedro Borbon and the late Tony Mullane. Enjoy the celebrations this week end.

The Reds scored three runs in the first to and Scott Scudder pitched into the seventh to give the Reds the Win. Dibble and Myers went the final 2 and two thirds , on 31 pitches, to lock down the victory.

July 18

Paul O'Neill singled in the bottom of the eleventh inning to give the Reds an 8-7 win over Montreal. O'Neill's single, to left field, followed Barry Lakin's triple to give the Reds the walk-off win. Randy Myers suffered one of the rare bullpen meltdowns allowing 4 runs in the ninth to force the extra innings.
