GAME 7 Thread, Celts vs Lakers
My son is wearing his Kobe Bryant jersey and desperately rooting for the Lakers this evening. If they win he pockets a cool, crip George Washington.
I'm going with the Celtics since they have a former UK player in the starting lineup. Rajon Rondo is sick. Its a shame Kendrick Perkins is injured and out for the final game of the series. I hate to see ballplayers on the bench in deciding games....unless they are named Albert Pujols or ARod, that is!
Go Celts, even if ya ain't my favorite team!

odd
i was actually better at basketball than baseball back in the day, but i dont really follow the NBA post short shorts era.
but……game 7’s in any sport are an amazing thing.
"then skip it"....
I am utterly ambivalent about basketball
But yes, Game 7s are fun.

Up in the air
I’m heading up to Columbus with some college buds the night before, so I’ll likely be up there that morning, but we were planning on coming back that day. My car is acting wonky (as always), so I’m not sure it’ll be able to make it up to Columbus without breaking down. Basically, I need to either drive up there separately with them, talk them into going to the game, or ride back in the morning and drive up in the afternoon and hope my car doesn’t die.
So yeah, I’ll keep you posted. You going with La Barra Brava?
"aaron harnann is so aweseom" - justin
Yeah, though I haven't seen any plans for a road trip yet.
I can’t believe they wouldn’t go. If for whatever reason they don’t, I think I’ll just come by myself. Maybe get a friend to tag along. Try and convince your friends. You and I know it’s a good (cheap) time.

I plan on it.
Either way, I’ll try to make it up there. Gotta think that Crew/DCU would be a great game to see.

Hopefully DCU manages to keep the good form that they'd found before the break
The big question: Do I try to go back to Ruby Tuesday for pre-gaming?

For the most part, good
There were a lot of initial, “What the FUCK is this?!” comments, but we hung out in the back and people were friendly. There was the one really drunk guy that came after me with a chair…

I'll come up there.

United’s song gets the Pixies title right (“Vamos”) while Columbus fucks it up (“Gigantic,” not “Massive”).

Sounds like Sasha Vujacic just made some clutch free throws
For all you Celtics supporters, it’s not too late to hop on board #HateSloveniaWeek.
it's the NBA who really cares?
we have the World Cup to worry about

who?
i dont know anybody by that name.
by Charlie Scrabbles on Jun 18, 2010 7:30 AM EDT up reply actions
Giuseppe Rossi
He’s a kid that was born in New Jersey, but then opted to play for the Italian team. He’s a really talented midfielder that absolutely would have made the USA squad. He even scored two goals against the USA for Italy in the Confederations Cup last year. But he was left off of Italy’s World Cup roster, so he’s watching at home.
A number of American fans are bitter that he chose Italy and call him traitor every chance they get.

Last Night's Loss
is completely on the shoulders of Paul Pierce. Once the Celtics built up the 13 point lead, Pierce made terrible decision after terrible decision. He dominated the ball, and could get by defenders. Time and time again he either threw the ball away or threw up a terrible shot. If I were the Celtics, I would hope that he opts out of his contract.
Also, It would have been nice for Ray Allen to have made a couple more shots.
Wonder if the Celtics would be willing to let allen and pierce walk in free agency, and make a serious run at signing lebron?
Too bad Rondo can't shoot with even remote accuracy...
Wall will eat him for breakfast sooner than later.
My name is Madville and I'm a JonnyGomesLaynceNixaddict.
truth is aside from shooting rondo can do everything wall can do
Rondo can’t shoot outside at all, yet there are still people saying he’s one of the 2 or 3 best point guards in the NBA. He’s a terrific defender and a freakish athlete.
John Wall is Rondo, but he’s 3 inches taller and he has a decent outside shot. He’s also a very good free throw shooter. Watching Rondo play at the level he did in the playoff and realizing that Wall is even better, it’s not hard to see why the wizards are taking him first overall.

Or Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Derron Williams, or Derrick Rose
"i may be an idiot but i’m correct." -- 'tHan
given the choice of picking one of those 5 players
i’d choose rondo over Nash (age) and rose (rondo is better)
depending on paul’s health i might take rondo over him too.

They’d rather recruit a guy with a FUCKING FILM CREW following him around, like he’s gonna spend one damned day in college.
