Farmers Only: Technical Difficulties Edition
I had an entire post written out before SBNation's servers decided to take it from me, so I'm gonna make this short and sweet.
- Travis Wood helped Louisville beat Syracuse 9-1. Travis gave up 3 hits and no runs in 7 innings, while striking out 8 and walking only one. Wilkin Castillo hit his 6th HR of the year. in the win. Up next: Chad Reineke takes on Syracuse at 7.
- Carolina lost to Huntsville 5-3. Mike Costanzo had most of the Mudcats offense, collecting a 2-run HR. No starter is listed for the Mudcats against Huntsville at 7:15.
- Lynchburg got shut out by Potomac 3-0. Cody Puckett had 2 of the Hillcats' 5 hits and starter Mark Serrano gave up 8 runs in 6 2/3 innings. Up next: Jams Avery takes on Potomac at 7:05.
- Dayton lost 4-3 to Beloit. Cameron Satterwhite went 4-for-5 and Justin Walker had a quality start but got the tough luck loss. Up next: Dragons take on Wisconsin at 8:05.

The Chiefs
were wearing old-fashioned uniforms.
I really liked them.

That’s first baseman Chris Duncan (brother of Shelley, son of Dave). Chris Valaika is on base behind him.

Those are cool uniforms.

Chris Duncan has a strong sense of style.

his page at MiLB.com
says he’s on the “restricted list,” which is where players who don’t want to play any more end up. (That’s where Milton Loo ended up when he took his ball and went home.)
He’s only 24, but maybe he got discouraged. After eight years in the minors, he probably expected to be doing better than a 9 ERA in AA ball.

Draft Updates:
All signs point to 2nd rounder Ryan LaMarre signing quickly. He could even be on the Dayton squad sometime this weekend.
This mlb.com recap has decent info on some of the picks. The best part, though, is that it says 6th round HSer Drew “Thong-song” Cisco expects to sign. That’s some good news.
Finally, 12th round HSer Kyle Waldrop is strongly considering signing. He’s a great athlete, and a highly touted football player with a scholarship to South Florida, and he was projected to go as high as the 3rd round. If they can get this kid in the system, it will be a steal in the 12th round.
