Original Baseball Content - Active leaders edition
I was talking with ash last night and the Reds record in games she has attended this season in now 1W 6L. tHan is 1W 5L and i'm 1W 2L. Which RR has seen the most wins, in person, by the Reds this season?!?
No cheating and looking up the answers. Name the MLB current active leaders in:
1) Most base hits (hint: 4 players have 2700+ hits, its closely contested)
2) Most Home Runs
3) Most Doubles
4) Most Triples
5) Most Hit by Pitches
5) Most Stolen Bases
6) Most Wins
7) Most Complete Games
8) Most Saves

Let's give this a shot.
1) Most base hits: I’d guess Jeter or Pudge. Probably Jeter.
2) Most Home Runs: Griffey
3) Most Doubles: Manny
4) Most Triples: Jimmy Rollins is the only active guy I can think of who hits a lot of triples, so I guess him. Ask me in ten years and the answer will be Drew Stubbs :)
5) Most Hit by Pitches: Gotta be Jason Kendall by a country mile.
5) Most Stolen Bases: Juan Pierre, but only because Carl Crawford hasn’t been around long enough and Jose Reyes can’t stay healthy.
6) Most Wins: I’m thinking Moyer or Pettitte. I’ll go with Moyer since he had like a ten year head start.
7) Most Complete Games: Livan Hernandez is still active, right?
8) Most Saves: Trevor Hoffman, this was kind of obvious.
9) Most Strikeouts: If Pedro qualifies as active then him, otherwise I guess I’ve gotta give the nod to Jamie Moyer.
10) Most Balks: When in doubt, guess Jamie Moyer!
Without even look at other guesses
1) Most base hits (hint: 4 players have 2700+ hits, its closely contested) Ichiro
2) Most Home Runs ARod right behind Griffey
3) Most Doubles Manny Ramirez
4) Most Triples No clue
5) Most Hit by Pitches Soriano
5) Most Stolen Bases Ichiro
6) Most Wins Pettitte
7) Most Complete Games Roy Oswalt or Wakefield
8) Most Saves Mariano Rivera maybe ahead of Hoffman, maybe not.
9) Most Strikeouts Zambrano
10) Most Balks The Golden Gopher
You know, considering the Reds have players known as "BP" and "Leake," surprisingly few oil spill jokes have been made the last few days. — Elizabeth
Yeah, I sort of did, afterward
I would have guessed Jeter had I just thought about it for 11 seconds instead of my usual handicap-based 8.

4) Most Triples Jeter

5) Most Stolen Bases Ctown_boy man crush Carl Crawford
6) Most Wins Pettite
7) Most Complete Games gotta be Halladay, followed by Oswalt
8) Most Saves Hoffman
9) Most Strikeouts Jamie Moyer
10) Most Balks Jamie moyer
"Avoid the Clap, Jimmy Dugan. That's good advice!"
Does Griff still count as "active"?

Men can remain active well into their 80's
When you come to the fork in the road, take it.
