Cactus League Game 11 Thread: Reds at Diamondbacks
Johnny Cueto makes his third start of the spring. He's given up 2 earned runs in 5 innings so far. In his last outing against Milwaukee he gave up one hit and one walk over three innings with one strikeout. I expect that he'll go 4 innings today.
Cueto will be followed by Jordan Smith, Jon Adkins, Logan Ondrusek, Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette, Pedro Viola and Enerio Del Rosario.
We'll also see Brian Augenstein, Blaine Boyer, Chad Qualls, and Bob Howry from the Diamondbacks.
By the way, Aroldis Chapman is starting the early game tomorrow against the Brewers.
Lineups are after the jump. No audio or video this afternoon, but there is always Gameday.

I don't think he's a power-closer type
But I think he definitely could have a place in a major league bullpen soon. There’s something to be said for a 6’7" reliever who can keep the ball in the park and who gives up a lot of ground balls. The Reds obviously like him if they’re sending him to the AFL and putting him on the 40-man, my guess is that he’s a May or June callup.

They’re afraid to pitch to Hammerin’ Janish.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
is he a chatty dude?
Because Yammerin Janish would be a cool nickname
"And then there was the USAID guy in Kandahar who drove a giant pink Cadillac, which the locals set on fire one day. If you wanted to destroy something symbolic during a riot, you just could not do better than that. Good stuff." - Ghosts of Alexander
it would have to be
Jammerin’ Janish.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
That actually works.
When I’ve heard him in interviews, he speaks pretty quickly and says “no doubt about it” a lot.
Alternatively, he could change his name to Hammerin’ Hamish.

really?
Texans talk pretty slow to my ear.
But then, maybe I’ve been in NY too long. New Yorkers talk about twice as fast as westerners or southerners.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
You're right, there's some Houston drawl in his voice.
But there’s something about his cadence that suggests “yammerin’” works for him, at least in my opinion.

He hit three doubles in one game?
I’d completely forgotten that.
And his eyelashes are so long and curly he looks like he’s wearing eye makeup.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
hmmm
he also kind of looks like Sexiest Woman Alive Lane Kiffin. I never noticed that before.

That has to be a fake name.
If your last name’s that goofy, you should be required to have a serious first name like Walter or Jerome.

Janish got a homerun?
He really is trying hard. Now he needs to do something about that ERA and he would be better than Babe Ruth!
for some reason...
reading an entire game thread the morning after a game to see what happened feels very similar to a morning after a night of drinking.
