Anyone have insider and would like to share the info?
I would love if we got Damon for 4 mill or less.

All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
i don't care how much Damon costs if it is a one year deal
it is Bob’s money not mine. One year of Damon won’t hurt the team in 2011. The time is now, lets add him.
CF-Stubbs
3B-Rolen
1B-Votto
RF-Bruce
2B-Phillips
LF-Damon
SS-Cabrera
C-Hernandez/Hannigan
With a bench of:
Janish
Dickerson
Balentin
Miles
Plus if Stubbs isn’t ready to rock and role, they can give Dickerson more time in CF, won’t lose much in the way of defense, and still have Damon holding down the fort in LF. Also they can use Dickerson to spell all 3 out fielders without hurting the lineup offensively or defensively. Lets do it Bob and Walt.
I don't buy
the “It’s not my money, a few million won’t hurt” argument. Money we spend now will impact the team in the future. It’s money we won’t have to spend next year. If we’re in contention at the trade deadline, it could be the difference between a $3 million player and a $6 million dollar player, or one $3 million dollar player vs. two of them.
And I don’t think he’s a very good fit for the Reds. Weren’t they looking for a right-handed slugger?
I do think JD is an excellent leadoff hitter, and by all accounts, he really does provide veteran presence/leadership in the clubhouse. And may he’d get buns in the seats and sell a lot of jerseys; I have no clue how important that is to a team like the Reds.
But all in all, I’d rather stick with Dickerson or give Heisey a shot than shell out millions for Damon.

Don't have too much to add but did want to lend my support to the "it's not my money" argument
It’s not so much an “argument” as it is a justification. I think justin meant that money shouldn’t be OUR reason NOT to sign someone. It’s not OUR money, and we havr no control over whether that $5million will be used next year or not. And we certainly don’t have any control over whether that $5million will be spent on a GOOD player or garbage. So if it’s used not to acquire a GOOD player, then I’m all for it. But it should not be anyone’s reason to NOT sign that GOOD player, unless your name is Bob Castellini.

Daniels-Kurkjian's anus a good fit
I suppose I'm cast as the darkness, because I comprehended their light not at all; at least not in the way they wanted me to.
for his head.
