Sheldon says that Gomes might make his decision once one of the other second-tier outfielders - guys like Garret Anderson, Cliff Floyd, Endy Chavez, or Marlon Anderson - sign with a club to establish the current market price and lower the available volume of 17 FA outfielders. Walt is waiting for something to break the current deadlock, and is fine with moving on if Gomes won't come down on his asking price.
