ESPN's Jerry Crasnick is reporting that Jay Bruce will be a Red for the better part of the next decade. The deal is reportedly for 6 years and $51M guaranteed, with an option for $12M for a 7th year. No word yet on what kind of option we're looking at or how the money breaks down, but we'll have those updates in this space as this develops.
Personally, I'm giving Walt a lot of credit on this one for locking up one of the team's young stars for a deal that's both favorable to the team and the player. Your thoughts?
