Book signing at Roebling Point Bookstore grand opening tonight
I haven't done much book pushing lately, partly because there hasn't been much to push since you all already own the book and have ready it seventeen times (thank you!), but this is a special event that I wanted to let you know about. The publisher of Wire to Wire Reds is opening a book store right at the end of the Roebling Suspension Bridge in Covington, KY, and John Erardi and I will be signing copies of the book as part of the grand opening celebration tonight at 7pm.
If you are in the area, come join us. There will be beer on tap and books to buy. It should be a good time.

A book store at the end of the Roebling Bridge sounds like it might be one of new favorite places in the world.
And they have beer? Every night or just when famous authors stop by?
I can’t make it tonight (I’m actually going to the other end of Ohio and maybe hitting some Cleveland Beer Fest thingy) but have a good time and sell some damn books! Robeez are expensive doncha know!
But what the hell is a Chicken Ring? Even the McNugget, that apotheosis of food facsimile, is stamped out of its processed chicken-amalgam paste to resemble "random" cuts of chicken; it tries to look like a food that may exist in nature (if nature had a deep fryer). But rings? It's like the White Castle people were like, "You know what? Fuck nature. Fuck it. Make the chicken into fucking rings.

Beer is being provided by the cafe next store, I believe
They will not regularly serve beer, but there are a couple bars in the same area.

I had no idea a bookstore was going there-awesome!
I can’t make it tonight, but I am blatantly campaigning to convert my family into Reds fans, and I will be ordering several autographed copies of WTWR as stocking stuffers!
Finally, if you will permit me, I'd like to make a comment which in my mind, is indicative, perhaps, of the greater significance of football and sports emphasis in general in this country, and that is, I thank God I was warring on the gridirons of the Midwest and not on the battlefields of Europe. sorry i missed it
im a big proponent of bookstores. and reading.
methinks they have an uphill battle to run a profitable business…but i’ll be rooting for them to succeed. ebay and amazon make it very easy to find obscure books which are delivered directly to one’s front doorstep.

sure
I think the idea is more, “hey, we publish books. We should sell some of them if people want to stop by and get them.” The bookstore is basically the lobby of their office.
By the way, they are releasing a book in December about the 2010 Reds. Mainly pictures, but some story too. The pictures I saw were outstanding.
