Baseball Today's Pascarelli mocks Larkin's HOF bid
HOF commentary on Larkin in the 1/7/09 episode.
Just when you thought that Karabell was bringing a bit of saber-sense to Baseball Today, Pascarelli spouts off. Did you know that Larkin only had about 5 or 6 good seasons, and only played 100 games in each of his last 5 years?
They start off with HOF stuff, and then come back around to Larkin and the Reds towards the end.

This guy is sure full of himself
first he caps on everyone else for their voting approach as pretentious and cheap…then goes on to pretentiously deign who ‘is’ and ‘is not’ HOF worthy…Andre Dawson is worthy of the HOF and so is Larkin and so is Blylevin…this Pascarelli guy would get eaten for breakfast here at RR. Maybe he should go get a job as a GAP store manager or a sociologist in the suburbs.
two words for this guy: ASSHOLE

First: I've alway's thought Peter Pascarelli looked like a child toucher

Second: This cartoon perfectly showcases his stance on baseball

Third: The man is an idiot and has been mocked in baseball circles for years now. He is a total boob.

I'm not fond of Pascarelli as a member of the baseball commentariat
but what confuses me most about his appearance on Baseball Today is just how bad he is at radio. His voice and mannerisms are almost the polar opposite of what you need to carry show. I can’t think of another podcast that I so quickly zone out on.
People, please. We're all frightened and horny, but we can't let some killer dolphins keep us from living and scoring

he does have one redeeming value
he’s made friends with enough players and coaches that he can get some good interviews. Of course, then he lobs softballs so as not to piss them off.
Mads is right though — he caps on the voters for being dumb, and then his criteria are a) “he had to play enough high-leverage games”, i.e., play for NY or BOS and b) “look like a hall-of-famer.”
What a dork.
