Beltre to Boston for cheap
Although the sentiment around the Rolen deal is somewhat positive on this site, how does this make it look?
Kinda makes me upset at the fact that we gave up two young pitchers and EdE for Rolen, when this is all it would have taken to get Beltre, although it might have required more money than Boston was offering to get him to come to Cincinnati.
Still, a lineup this year with Beltre at third and EdE in left could have been interesting.

EdE didn't hit enough to start at a corner OF spot.
Give me a lineup of 9 Ryan Freels, and I'll show you a team that can't pitch.
I agree, just that it would be interesting
but given our options there this year, does he really look that bad?
Do you think Heisey, Wladdy, or Frazier will hit better over a full season?
"Avoid the Clap, Jimmy Dugan. That's good advice!"
I do.
I think there’s enough of a chance for one of those three (plus Gomes) to break out and OPS ~800. I don’t thin Edwin will.

That's ok, as long as the Reds sign another speedy, slap-hitting outfielder who doesn't walk much
Oh look at that, Reds sign Josh Anderson to a minor league deal, sure to draw lots of “oh, it’s just a minor league deal without too much money committed” comments. Or what Dusty calls “a lock to make the opening day roster.”
Lazily stolen from mlbtraderumors dot com:
The Reds have signed outfielder Josh Anderson to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training, according to a tweet from MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon.
The speedy outfielder has bounced around from Houston to Atlanta to Detroit to Kansas City in his brief big league career, during which he’s hit .272/.313/.352 in 519 plate appearances. Johnson has stolen 36 bases in 43 tries, though UZR says he’s a poor defender in center but strong on the corners.
