You know they will and you and I will meet at GABP and start a shooting spree

I said someone would take him

What stats guys love him and for what stats?

by ol Pete on Jul 25, 2009 3:29 PM EDT up reply actions

he can definitely be the 3B and 5-hitter for a playoff team

but he needs a great defensive SS and a good lineup around him. he’s not a loser like Taveras, but he’s a world-beater like Votto.

by Charlie Scrabbles on Jul 25, 2009 3:33 PM EDT up reply actions

i dunno if LF is really the place for him

defensively, he’s more like a 1B. in fact, i bet he could be an above average 1B. but in LF i just dont think he’d hit enough to make it worth it.

by Charlie Scrabbles on Jul 25, 2009 3:35 PM EDT up reply actions

i think he'd be an average defender in LF

but the average OPS for a LF is closer to .850 than .800. i think he has .850 OPS potential, but i think the Reds have 1 too many players to play 1B/LF/3B for the near future and EdE is probably the least among them. i like EdE, but i think this year was his year to really establish himself. i dont know if the Reds are willing wait for him anymore.

by Charlie Scrabbles on Jul 25, 2009 3:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I think they will wait one more year

and, Charlie, re-read my comment. I wasn’t talking MOST teams or AVERAGE production. I was talking about the pathetic nature of this team

by timb116 on Jul 25, 2009 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions

i dont think the stats are really all that high on him

i mean, he has an above average bat at 3B, but his glove is monstrous. as a 3B i think he can be league-average, but if he has to move to LF or 1B like he should his value will suffer.

by Charlie Scrabbles on Jul 25, 2009 3:31 PM EDT up reply actions

But look at what we got for Keppinger

I want way more than Drew Sutton for EdE…

I think he'd have to face more than one batter to get the save

but I agree, that’s really stupid.

Isn't there a slanket somewhere you should be filling with your farts?

Man

I really hope we get to lose with the tying run at the plate again.

You ever been to the South side of Milwaukee?

by chesirecat on Jul 25, 2009 3:52 PM EDT reply actions

I know it doesn't mean a damn thing...

but 17 hits in 2 games is shocking to me.

by DocRam on Jul 25, 2009 3:54 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah, two losses in 2 games isn't

That's true

the problem is no walks and very few extra base hits.

This team is a singles hitting, non walking team

With holes in the lineup

that make it hard to string those hits together.

Let me write out a formal proof for you.

Nice little stat from teh Fay

Reds starting pitching is 2-12 in the last 17 games…

There’s that “tough Red’s pitching staff” for you

Happy Votto hit a homerun

now I won’t have to eat my scones in total bitterness (too bad I can’t email them out lol)

by Red_Poodle on Jul 25, 2009 4:09 PM EDT reply actions

The baby is still trapped

Despite Votto’s efforts. He has to save the baby tomorrow and it will be a struggle wth Owings on the mound (been more like Earnings recently).

To paraphrase a Quarterflash song, it’s time for Reds fans to harden their hearts and swallow some beers.

Quarterflash?

First Clarke Gable, now Quarterflash. You’re an encyclopedia of pop culture history!

How’d the scones turn out?

lol yes. I love the pop culture

scones turned out great actually. I made cranberry orange ones. They would have been better if I had a few more cranberries, but overall, they were nice. I developed a socne addiction over time; especially while I ws in Vancouver. They sell a huge variety of them at the Starbucks up there. Just one of the other things to recommend our neighbors to the north lol.

you know

last time I was in Ontario, I spent a long time looking for some RCMP and couldn’t find any! I was really disappointed.

Cueto was shaky, but OK

Pretty convinced that this team is going to need to pick up a SP in the offseason and I think all the young dudes (Cueto, Owings, Bailey, Volquez) performances for the remainder of the year will bear it out.

You can’t bank on this staff staying healthy and developing enough to cut it.

It appears that due to work I've another scintellating Reds Game

We got some problems that should have been fixed by now

Most disturbing is that Rally killing solo homes runs are rearing their ugly heads again
Second we need a functional SS to bat second
3rd. This Tatum guy hits way to well to be on the bench as much as he hs been since being called up.

I say take the baby out from under the basket and insted put him in the trunk of my ’94 Camry…

And for today’s 1960’s band of the game…

Nice suits – I could see Slyde in a suit like these…

You're kidding about Tatum, right?

He’s now 0 for 5, after hitting .239/.300/.338 in AAA.

Let me write out a formal proof for you.

Right...just thinking about and missing the chad Moeller days

I have no hope whatsoever that Tatum will ever his at the AAA level let alone MLB
