Stubbs coming up? Probably not says Hall of Famer Hal

For those expecting a Drew Stubbs appearance, don’t. Won’t happen. They just need a body for one game Sunday before the All-Star break. They’ll wait until they see how bad Bruce is before they make a post-All-Star break decision.

“I hope Jay’s not hurt too seriously,” Baker said. “I hope that we don’t lose him for the year,” Baker said.

The injury comes one game before the All-Star Break.

Baker said the Reds will try to get a player in for the final game.

“Yeah, we’re operating short enough this year,” Baker said. “I’m not sure who. We don’t have a lot of options.”

The top minor league outfielders – Chris Heisey and Drew Stubbs – are not on the 40-man roster. Heisey, in fact, is in St. Louis to play in today’s Futures Game.

i would guess

that Bruce goes on the 60 day and someone will get moved onto the 40 man roster. Not sure who it will be though. I can not see McDonald coming back

I think this could be the return of Adam Rosales, at least until after the break. He’s on the 40-man.

Drew Sutton could get the call. He was just sent down, but in case of injury, he can be called up again. He’s on the 40-man, and they’ve already burned an option for him this year.

I thought they saw that it was fractured. Great, now we’re going to play this same damn game again. Bruce will be out for 2 months, but they’ll act like he’s could be back once his 15 days on the DL are up or maybe the week after that or maybe the week after that or…

They tell us Bruce’s wrist is fractured and then act like it’s day to day? Come on.

This is a good opportunity to see what Heisey or Stubbs can do.

I really think they bring McDonald back up, though. Because what I think will happen is that they’ll give more playing time to Nix, Gomes, and Dickerson, and leave easy out Tavares in CF. Typical Dusty………Dickerson should be in CF every game, if not for his defense alone.
