Around SBN: Yu Darvish Diagnosed With Mariners Fever

Farmers Only: Kids, you tried your best and failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

  • Homer Bailey got knocked around as Louisville got shelled by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 11-5Homer had some trouble at the outset of the game, giving up 7 runs in the first two innings, but managed to stay in for 6 without giving up any more.  Offensively, Kevin Barker hit his 5th HR of the season, and 5 Bats had multi-hit games in the loss (Barker, Jonny Gomes, Norris Hopper, Drew Stubbs, and Danny Dorn).  Another guy on the Reds radar, Drew Sutton, was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.  Up next: Daryl Thompson takes on Scranton at 6:15.
  • Jordan Smith was great as Carolina beat Mobile 5-1Smith went 5 innings of shutout ball, and Alexander Smit and Derrik Lutz combined for 3 innings of hitless relief.  Chris Heisey got on base again, going 2-for-4 with a double, and Todd Frazier went 2-for-4 with his first HR of the year.  Eric Eymann had the best day for the offense, going 3-for-4 and 3 RBI.  Up next: James Avery takes on Mobile at 6:15.
  • Sarasota lost to Jupiter 4-0, on a day where the offense just couldn't get anything going.  Neftali Soto had two hits for the S-Reds, and Jeremy Horst was mediocre, giving up 4 runs in 5.  Up next: Jerry Gil takes on Jupiter at 6:05.
  • Dayton lost 7-3 to Kane County, on a pretty dismal performance to drop to 7-21 on the season.  The offense managed 5 singles total, and Josh Ravin gave up 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings to put the Dragons down.  Up next: Oscar Castro is the scheduled starter against Kane County at 7.

John Rodriguez

is the guy who homered off Bailey.

He’s playing well enough that some Yankees fans are calling for Teixeira to be put on the DL and John Rodriguez called up.

Never Try and Never, ever Care

that’s the Madville Way

I want to be there when a trailer full of coffins slams into a an ambulance full of terminally ill Bolivians. Or when the Reds win a WS..whichever comes first....
