Dusty's dad is sick. Really sick.
Hall O' Famer Hal snuck this little nugget in his post this morning.
"Then Baker rushed from the clubhouse to fly to Sacramento for today’s off day to visit his gravely ill father, Johnny Baker Sr. Asked how his father was doing, Baker said, "Not good.""
We've said a lot of nasty things about Dusty on this site, but I think I speak for all of us when I say that I hope he has comfort during his father's illness, and hope for a recovery for Senior. If you have any nice things to say about Dusty, this would be the place

Damn
I can’t imagine the stress Dusty must be under, managing a ML team with that in the back of his mind. At least he’ll be somewhat close this weekend to spend time with his dad. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for Mr. Baker.
I miss the old days of the internet when men were men, hot girls were middle aged men, and hot underage girls were FBI agents.....
Dusty, hope you read this bud..
I hope your Dad gets well, it doesn’t sound promising…losing a parent is indescribable, God be with you.
About Dusty;
This guy was a really fun to watch and competitive player back in the day.The man also had style out the wazzoo..
I like how he almost always deflects criticism about his players and how it seems that in his eyes every one of those guys is either already really good or just a pitch or AB away from putting it all together.
Players generally really like this guy and seem to respect him as a manager, they live with him day in and out for 6 months of the year..that says a lot (esp. in this super superduper STAR age).
Oh and his team is tied for the league lead..must be doing somethings right.

You guys are a bnuch of Dusty hating jerks!
Dusty is a good manager, I don’t always agree with him but that doesn’t mean he’s not a good manager.

As far as your average MLB manager goes, Dusty ain't terrible
But this thread is about Dusty’s father’s illness…I see nowhere in the comment submitted any malfeasance towards Dusty’s managerial competence.
I also doubt very much that Dusty is going to read this fanshot…so I’m just a-talkin’ to myself.
