Game 2 Thread: Mets at Reds
New York Mets at Cincinnati Reds, Apr 8, 2009 7:10 PM EDT
No Willy Taveras again tonight. Looks like we'll have to wait another day until HAVOC is in full effect.
Here's a question for you: Who do you trust more in CF, Chris Dickerson or Darnell McDonald? Despite Dickerson playing 75 games in CF last season (to McDonald's 4), Dusty Baker prefers Hairston in CF on days when Dickerson is in the lineup, but he had McDonald on Opening Day. It's not a big deal. I just wish I understood the logic of anything that Dusty did. I certainly don't today.
Besides the pitchers, Dickerson is the only change in either lineup from Opening Day. Hopefully this doesn't lead to similar results. Like I said in the game preview, I think the Reds will win this one tonight, in particular because I will be there. Also because they haven't started the season at 0-2 since 2003, and we're not ready to relive the magic of that year just yet.
I'll see those of you joining us at the game down at the stadium. The rest of you enjoy the game from the warmth of your home. Go Reds!

It starts with some dude getting a 25 year high school reunion invitation, which reminded me that I graduated high school 15 years ago this May. Damn it all.

My friend just called and said he was coming over to watch the Yankee game
I said, that’s too bad because the Reds game is on. He said he’d be going somewhere else.
I think Girardi isn't going to last the season
Then they’ll make Pena the manager and win the World Series.
I hear tell
That MLB Extra Innings is offering ALL GAMES FREE until the 12th.
Unfortunately, I don’t think my cable provider offers MLB Extra Innings. But if yours does…
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
I don't get the big numbers
I’m too cheap to rent a cable box, so I tune through a VCR. I can’t get the big numbers, but I save $3 a month.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
The cable box is worth the first week of the season
You can just flip from game to game. It’s like heaven.
It's the principle of it
I have a love-hate relationship with Time Warner Cable.
Actually, mostly hate. If MLB.TV weren’t even worse, I’d dump cable TV altogether.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Yeah, I just moved to a house where the guy got rid of cable and satellite
No more MLBTV. No more Extra Innings. No more NFL Network. And the goddamn Real World/Road Rules Challenge is starting tonight and I can’t watch it!
Sigh.
I always said the TV was going to be the thing I missed the most about that other place.
Man...
It’s 2AM in Budapest, and as my Romanian hostel mate threw up all over the damn place and it’s too cold to sleep outside I’m figuring this is as good a use of time as any.
what side are you staying on?
Buda or Pest?
How long you staying?
"Here's to you, Mr. Ceremonial First First Pitch Thrower Outer"
Oh not too long
I’m in Pest… but only for the moment. Swinging over to the Alps. It is a hell of a city. No Prague, but pretty darn good.
i loved Budapest
i dont remember much of it, but what i do remember i loved.
