Norris Hopper Outrighted off 40-Man Roster
Norris is still part of the organization, but no longer eats up a 40-Man roster spot. Obviously, this means Walt is trying to free up a slot or two to pick up another bench bat or two. (Or Make room for 2 of Gomes, Nix, and McDonald)

This was a long time in coming anyway
Norris was fun to have around, and putting the ball in an unconscious Freel’s glove is in the All-Time Pantheon of Scrappy Baseball Moves, but his skill set was made redundant by getting Willy Taveras. And I’m no fan of Willy, but I’d rather have him than Norris on the team.
/pours one out for Hoppinger
yeah man
Hoppinger has been unceremonious dismantled. im not grief-stricken, but i sure feel like something.

I was...
…expecting this.
He’ll probably clear waivers and end up in Louisville. Especially since Leatherpants is no longer in a position to collect ex-Reds outfielders.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
He already has cleared waivers
If you are outrighted, it means you cleared waivers and the time can assign you to the minor league club.

has he been outrighted before?
Does he have to accept the assignment? (Not that I think he’d refuse it in this market.)
