Dusty's using his ears again
SPEAKING OF TODD FRAZIER, one of the team’s highest prospects, Baker was asked if he had talked much to him yet this spring.
"Just a little bit," said Baker. "I see him, but I hear him mostly. I hear his bat. He has a different sound in his bat. He has a different swing, but it is very effective."
Just like Norris Hopper, right Dusty?

Exactly
That said, Frazier does indeed hit the ball pretty hard. Lots of power in his bat.
Is the ‘more from Red Reporter’ and ‘Around SB Natiion’ brand new? I haven’t noticed it yet.
It's in a new spot
It used to be on the sidebar. We’ll see if it sticks there.

Soviet training methods...
“Cyclists are like eggs. You throw a carton against the wall and keep the ones that don’t break.”
This was how one of my cyclist friends described the training of Ekimov. Let’s hope it works for pitchers, too! I see no drawbacks!

Well, he'll be playing with a better team than he would in camp
and playing against better teams. And we will get to see him pitch on TV a few more times. And it will give us more innings to use to develop youngsters/determine 5th starter spot.
But if I see a pitch count over 110 I’ll be foaming at more places than just my mouth.

Frazier
I would love to see this kid in Cincy sometime this season.
And I can not wait for this year to get started!!
90 wins in 09!!
Bailey
Hopefully he throws it well in Sarasota. I agree if he is anywhere close to having the spring that Cueto had in 08 this will be a pretty fun year
90 wins in 09!!
that's my dream right now
Volquez-Cueto-Bailey can be the core of our mid-90’s Braves redux.
Keppinger even looks like Jeff Blauser!

Keppinger...
Also has about the same statuesque range of Jeff Blauser too…

Ouch.
Double-ouch when you consider that Blauser is 43 and hasn’t played in a decade. His range today is probably from here…to here.

Dusty Baker is frighteningly incoherent at times
Believe me, I know about incoherence.
