Help Wanted
Longtime fantasy baseball league (in business since 1986) looking for dedicated individual to own a team in our league.
We rarely have openings in our league, but we have one slot left to fill in a year where we are totally redrafting the league.
Some info about us...we are a 10 team 7x7 league. We have grown a few funky rules over the years that seem to work really well for us, mostly surrounding things like draft order and team composition (details available upon request). We do play for money, but not for a lot of money. Our league is primarily a social organization...money is just a motivator we use to help us pay attention. :)
What we are looking for: We are ideally looking for one candidate (though if three people expressed interest, we have talked about possibly expanding the league to 12 teams). The ideal candidate(s) should be local to the Columbus area or able to come to the Columbus area for the draft and 1-2 get-togethers a year. Our league features daily transactions, so if you are not comfortable with that kind of commitment, then you will probably not enjoy our league. You should also be an active owner, both in keeping up with your team and trash talking the other owners.
Our drafts take place offline. This year's draft will likely be longer than others, as we are drafting a full 25 man roster. In most years, we feature 10 keepers, so the drafts are a little more managable.
I have tried to give a general overview, but it's late and I have probably missed something. If you have any questions, please use the thread or my email address and I would be happy to give you more information about our league or just talk about fantasy baseball.

10-team league
Is it AL-only, NL-only, or a mixed league?

A bit of both, actually.
We actually alternate leagues each year.
This upcoming season is an NL year, so we will draft a 20 man NL roster. We also allow owners to carry a 5 man “opposite league” taxi squad, from which one player can be active at a time. This also serves as your AL keeper list.
This allows our owners who are fans of a particular league to have their chance in the sun and the taxi squads really come in handy when you are playing AL years, given they have 2 less teams than the NL. (the talent can get thin in a hurry *grin*)

Didn't you have an opening a year or two ago?
The original members must be dying off.
I think I might be up for it this time. I’m in Columbus now and the Red Reporter leagues aren’t providing much competition (2 titles, 3 runner up finishes in 5 leagues).
Drop me an email. I’ve updated my RR listed email so if Petey wants to talk Wal-Mart or shortstop wants to trade religion links we can have a back-and-forth.

What's a Wal-mart?

Heh
We actually had three people leave for various reasons, including health…but the combined experience that left was something north of 20 years. :)
I’ll drop you an email with the more details.
