apparently the University of Cincinnati is on the verge of announcing the hiring of Jesus Butch Jones to replace brian Kelly as the UC Bearcat head football coach. Can they catch lightening in a bottle twice in a row...especially from Central Michigan?

There is an overriding misconception that Clutch is an overriding misconception.

I think they should have picked Kerry Combs

Butch Jones will use UC as a stepping stone just like Kelly

Combs is too much rah rah and not enough blood and guts

Jones interviewed at Marshall, too.

It looks like the Herd is getting another former WVU assistant, Doc Holliday.

I don’t mind the stepping stone stuff if you can’t annually be a title contender. When bigger schools come for your coaches, at least it means you’re winning. Sure beats firing them.

i guess Xavier Basketball has been sucessful as a stepping stone program

I don't think the system is the same in basketball as it is in football

But I agree with your overall sentiment. For Xavier basketball, it’s not the coach that makes the program, it’s the program that makes the coaches. With the support and funding that’s come with Kelly building a winning program, it’ll take a decent coach to keep that going but Jones should be able to do it and the program should be fine.

I wish Jones well and hope that by the time he is finished I can't recall Kelly's name

Butch now ready to 'Roll Up His sleeves'

The loss of 18 Seniors including Pike and Gilyard is daunting enough, but now Butch has to somehow rebuild a team that while good in its own league has floundered when it gets to the ‘big boys’ level.
Good luck Butch…you’ll need it.

Classy Cardinals Reprise!

I hope to construct a music video montage of classy St. Louis Cardinal moments, perhaps setting it to Mariah Carey's "Hero."

Please take a moment to find the classiest incidents in recent Cardinal history, and link to an article covering the event, or video or pictures if you can find them. And if you just have a ridiculous photo of a recent Cardinal, please post a link here to the highest resolution image you can find.

I think we can all learn from such a classy organization. Let's give it a try.
