Reds still trying to sign Craig Counsell
MLB.com's Adam McCalvy says the Brewers upped their offer to Craig Counsell this morning and GM Doug Melvin is confident they'll get it done. The Reds are still in the mix for Counsell, says MLB.com's Mark Sheldon.

I still think it would be OK for the Reds to give Counsell a reasonable 1 year contract
but it’s dangerous to get in a bidding war with two other teams for a 40 year old SS, new batting stance or no. I don’t understand why there’s been no movement on Izturis. Based on the chatter, it seems like they’re more interested in Counsell – which follows Jocketty’s “veteran leadership” platitude at Redsfest.
Yeah, those guys and the Cincinnati Reds. They're a terrible football team. / Because they're a baseball team? / Exactly. You know who's the worst football team? The Philadelphia Flyers. - Best Show

Jocketty said some kind of trade
may get done this weekend. I’m hoping it’s some kind of deal with the Angels for Izturis….might the Reds be able to get some salary relief and palm off Cordero is some kind of deal?
Hopefully, Counsell will sign today with the Brewers, so Jockettey can then focus on Izturis.

I feel like Izturis won't be dealt until the Jays say yes or no to the Halladay deal on the table.

Craig Cowsill can blow me.
Not only is he over the hill but his band sucks too and he was a shitty bass player too

There is an overriding misconception that Clutch is an overriding misconception.
