I never served in the Armed Forces.
My Dad was in WWII, My Mother was a highly classified civilian specialist in communications at Wright-Patterson during WWII, My sister was in the WAC, My niece was in the WAC and her husband is in the Army stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. My cousin’s 1st husband was a West Point grad, My cousins all graduated from Culver Academy…the list goes on…When our country called us, our family responded…I salute all Veterans of all the Service Branches and especially those people who have given life and limb and soul and mind. It is amazing that all of those people who don’t know who I am from Adam, have risked all for our country and for each of us individually – so that we may conduct the business of peace, freedom and stewardship of the planet and all its creatures.
This may sound a bit corny coming from the politically independent curmudgeon that I am. The USA despite its flaws and corruption and overall messiness is still a great and powerful instrument of freedom and hope for the entire world. And as sad as it is, there can be no freedom for independent political curmudgeons without our strong and passionate armed forces.
Thanks guys…every single one you across the country, the world and years.
And especially to my Dad and Army Air Corps

I love that photo
Wish I were as eloquent as you, Mads. Thanks for taking the time to put into words what a lot of people feel.
God Bless your entire extended family for their service.
