First!
Don’t think I’ll be watching though. Tigers play tonight. Need this win badly.
People Don't Kill People. Burning Couches Kill People.
no college student should ever watch a televised baseball game on a Saturday night
UNLESS its your favorite ballclub, in the playoffs, at a house party or a bar.
"I have found me a home"
wow
The joint is hopping tonight…
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
i dont see much interest in this offseason
four big market teams left, three of whom have won WS fairly recently.
the networks have to be hoping for a NYY LA WS, but its not terribly captivating.
"I have found me a home"
in the end
I think it’s the games that matter. If it’s a good game, people will watch. The ratings for that Tigers-Twins game were insane. Not because anyone cared that much about the Tigers or the Twins, but because it was a terrific game.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
I think you're right
how high were they? I was watching Conan later that night, and one of the musicians was interrupting to watch some of the game lol
ratings
6.54 million viewers, which is a 57 percent increase from last year’s Twins-White Sox tiebreaker.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Never count the Angels out
At least when they’re playing the Yanks.
And never trust AJ Burnett.

Where the Wild Things Are
On the mound in Yankee Stadium, it would seem.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
who was that
who swung at a pitchout and actually got a hit?
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
I remember that happening, but don't remember who it was.
Nice job by Saunders to get out of that.

Does anyone remember
Johnny Bench lining a single to right when they were trying to intentionally walk him?
Of course, this could be another of my dad’s “stories”.
The man who will one day be President is, at this moment, lying in his cradle, trying to find some strategic way to get his big toe in his mouth.

clutch GIDP by Jeter
Though it looked like the ump blew the call. He was safe.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Pretty sure Miguel Cabrera did that
I believe it was when the Marlins were in the playoffs, possibly the World Series.

They're calling him
“Choad” on the Yankees blogs.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
I've always had a soft spot for the short scrappy guys
But the difference between the typical short scrappy guy that gets man-love in the postseason and Chone is that Chone awesome. -j
who we rooting for?
I am for anyone except the Phillies to win it all
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.
I always root against the Yankees (sorry BubbaFan)
Used to be personal. Now it’s more of a habit I can’t drop. But I like a lot of the Angels’ players. -j
I got kinda wrapped up in the Adenhart thing
so I guess I’m with the Angels.

Joba is way too in love with his slider
Works a lot better when he doesn’t throw it every pitch.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Speaking of short, scrappy guys
Brett Gardner’s in the game. Pinch-running for Swisher.
I’m kind of surprised Girardi did it so early. Torre would never do this. He’d wait until the Yanks had a lead to hold.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Remember when the big question in the prospect rankings was Bailey vs. Hughes?
Who would you take now? I’m honestly not sure. Both seem to be finding themselves. I’ve secretly always favored Hughes because I liked his polish, but I can’t help but feel optimistic about Bailey right now given his finish to ’09. Will Hughes make it back into the rotation next year, or are they too in love with him as a set-up man now?
-j
Girardi's over managing this game
Joba in for one out, Hughes in for two. I wouldn’t go to Mo so quickly. Hughes was doing fine.
If this game goes to extras and/or is rain delayed, he may regret burning Hughes and Chamberlain for three outs between them.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
This Jepson kid
is packing serious heat.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Yeah, they put Guzman in
The only reason Guzman is on the roster is to pinch-run. They DFA’d Anthony Claggett to add Guzman to the 40-man, then put him on the post-season roster instead of Hinske.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
They're right that they haven't been calling that all night, though
All you can ask for is consistency.
McCarver just countered this
But I would swear I swear I saw Aybar not touching the bag on at least one other DP tonight.
-j
I think the umpires
are tightening up, because they want to end this game before Noah finishes building his ark.

I agree, you should
But it’s kinda shitty to change everything up in extra innings. Doesn’t look good on the ump for sure.
Also, hi kids. What have I missed? :)
"What the hell are spanks????"
not much...
watched all of bama -carolina and its still 2-2

Derek Jeter is clutch!
Clutch home run, clutch GIDP, clutch error…
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
the trick is to let them stay up late !

Walks will haunt
Damon has a rag arm.
And Girardi was not so smart, burning Hughes and Joba for just three outs total.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
what I can't believe
Is that Bobby Abreu threw himself against the fence.
Not very well, but holy crap. When he was a Yankee, he wouldn’t get within 5’ of the wall.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
well it is the play-offs

he was in the playoffs as a Yankee
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
This game is never going to end...
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Mornin', bitches!
So, heck of a baseball game, eh?

and he singles!
He’s the last guy on the bench, except the third backup catcher.
Only one guy left in the pen, too.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
and he scores the winning run !

Stupid fielding
What was Izturis thinking?
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
and he gets the pie in the face
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
That's something the Yanks do
practically every win.
I think Cherry deserved it. Melky didn’t really deserve it; Cherry scored on the bad throw, not the hit.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Yay, Cherry

It was nice to see him get a moment of postseason glory.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
yeah it would also be nice to seem him tear his fucking acl
nothing personal i just have disdain for the yankees. I really hope CC and Burnett tears their labrums and rotar cuffs next season. Teach the Yankees to give out ridiculous contracts.
i mean sometimes Walt is like a prison shower, you know it is gonna happen, but it isn’t a good thing.

Nothing personal, I just want you to have an intensely painful and career ending injury.
…
IAN! I'm on traain!
Get a grip
Why does Cherry Hudson, Jr. deserve a torn ACL? He had no choice about going to the Yankees. And he’s certainly not getting a ridiculous contract (unless the Reds gave him one).
And no, it wouldn’t teach the Yankees not to give out ridiculous contracts. They have insurance on their pricey players. I’m sure all teams do.
