Hes getting hit early
But judging from the gameday he is really painting the corners. Only one pitch so far off the black in 3 at bats if i am correct.
Dusty Baker said it was the first [triple play] he’d seen in person. When he was with the Dodgers, they hit into one, but he was in the bathroom.- C Trent

This whole balloon boy story has me distracted
How’s Leake lookin’?
Definitely a good argument.

Back to back hits to begin the inning
then a line out and 2 Ks
People always asking, 'Uncle Jemima, why you sell booze?' I say 'sell whatchu know' and I knows about booze.

cool
no kid in the balloon…must’ve fallen out somewhere.
Definitely a good argument.

apparently the boy's family had been on Wife Swap
Definitely a good argument.

Why the hell is that a big story?
Let me write out a formal proof for you.
by Gray on Oct 15, 2009 4:10 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
well
when they thought the kid was still in the balloon, “will they be able to save the kid?” was a big story. At this point, I don’t think it is much more than a sad story, but they’ve already committed to covering it.
Definitely a good argument.
by Slyde on Oct 15, 2009 4:14 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, I guess.
Even still, there was nothing they could do even if he was in the balloon.
Let me write out a formal proof for you.
by Gray on Oct 15, 2009 4:16 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
but that's why it was dramatic
I’ll admit that having a kid made the story much more interesting to me. Especially since my house is surrounded by experimental balloons.
Definitely a good argument.

soft landing
But no kid.
Some talking head on CNN is saying there’s no way that balloon was big enough to lift off with a 50 pound kid in a basket.
OTOH, the kid’s only 6. Kinda hard to believe he would be able to hide so long just as a prank.

I wonder
if he’s in trouble, or if they’re so happy he’s not dead he’ll escape punishment.

i'd fucking ground him for a month
apparently they took their kids with them to check out hurricanes and shit… They don’t seem to be the most responsible parents.

I wonder if it was a publicity stunt
the family has already been on Wife Swap and the kids have some sort of musical act. I bet this was staged.
Definitely a good argument.

if it was
They should take the kids away from them.
If it was a hoax, they hid the kid all day, because the cops were searching for him, just in case he wasn’t really on the balloon.
And they must have coached his brother to lie to the police, since I’m sure they interviewed him about what he saw.

yeah, I saw that live
my TV was on CNN when I turned it on and I turned it on about 2 minutes before that kid said that. After he said that I turned it. I have little doubt this was a hoax.
Definitely a good argument.

Double Post!
Heisey leads off with a double.
Definitely a good argument.

Single Post!
Cozart follows with a single, Heisey to third. No outs in the first.
Definitely a good argument.

Heisey scores on a GIDP
some other team’s prospect ruined the inning.
Definitely a good argument.

Well the REDS are 3 for 3
stupid other teams.

A walk is as good as a hit
Ergo, 3 for 3.

Where does Leake normally sit with his fastball
Cause hes been pretty consistently 89 so far

Leake pulling a Neo in Arizona
allows a single, double, and a walk but doesn’t give up a run in the 2nd.
Definitely a good argument.

The Javelinas shortstop is Cale Iorg, who I assume is related to Dane and Garth Iorg
Party on, Dane! Party on, Garth!

Boxy Brown in to pitch for Leake
2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K is his final line

Impressive AB by Chris Heisey, though he struck out.
First 8 pitches: 5 in the zone, 3 off the plate. He only swung at the 5 in the zone, then was called out looking at a changeup at the letters that could have been called a ball.
Keep your shit off my whimsy.

Thanks, GameDay. I can look like an ass without your assistance.

Boxberger is out (2 IP, 2 K, 1 H, 1 ER)
Logan Ondrusek is on to pitch. I’m guessing the Reds execs are at the game, which is why all of their pitchers are pitching today.
Definitely a good argument.

Uh oh
Lurch gets two quick outs but gives up a dinger to Scott Sizemore to tie it. 2-2.

Yeah
He was a supplemental 1st rounder, and signed at the same time Leake did.

I wonder
If he and Leake both dont start the year at Sarasota with a June/July call up to Carolina if all goes well.
Shoot both of those guys could be pitching and GAB by end of 2011 and in the rotation 2012.

Ondrusek doesn't make it out of the inning
5 ER in 2 outs. Ouch.
