Dickerson's only 17?
Has anyone been watching the new MLB Nerwork? It’s a disappointment so far. As you would expect, MLB doesn’t quite understand their product. We’re coming off one of the lowest rated postseasons ever, and the MLB Network begins their programming by replaying the entire post season. Also, as you would expect, there is an intermittant “Red Sox Memories” show on the schedule. I imagine this channel will be as disappointing and predictable as the Tennis Channel where you can find Venus playing Serena 24/7.

they are replaying it
because nobody watched it the first time.

My buddy down the hall made that line up
That’s a pretty powerful mark on pop culture. I’m jealous.
Then again, he was laid off last month.

What do you mean, "blank slate"?

Not sure that's the case. At least for me it's not.
From my perspective, this should be the season that really raises or lowers his stock based on how quickly he progresses through the system.

agreed
i still really like him, but i just like guys like Lotzkar and Dorn better. i voted Lotzkar here, i think he’s going to destroy Sarasota next year and end the year with a cup o’ in Louisville.

I just kind of expected more from Mesoraco
I know he is young, but there was a lot of hype, and I think we are all hold some sort of want for a good overall catcher grown through our system….hopefully he will be, but Im skeptical

i can understand expecting more from a 1st round pick
but Mesoraco is only 20 and he just finished his first full season of pro baseball playing the hardest position on the diamond. i would love for him to have set the world on fire like Joe Mauer or Matt Weiters, but he didnt. but that doesnt change the fact that he has enormous tools and plenty of time to grow. just give him some time.

Baseball America
has a post about minor league catchers. Mesoraco has kind of a lot of passed balls. But not as many as Koby Clemens.

Voted Lotzkar
I think the following, in no particular order, will get my votes next: Yorman Rodriguez, Juan Duran, Dorn, Mesoraco, Dickerson, Stewart, and Roenicke,

Digression
Did you know that the Reds were the only team to hit 7 HR in a game last year? And they did it 3 times!
In fact, only two other teams in the last 52 years have done the feat multiple times in the same season. Crazy.

I don't know...
…if two posts constitutes spam. But it is a bit peculiar.
I’m also wondering if it’s my fault. I posted a link to that blog a couple of days ago. Perhaps he noticed the link and that’s what drew him here.
It doesn’t seem to be a commercial or spam-oriented blog, or I wouldn’t have linked to it. It’s a blog about the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs, the Phillies’ AAA team.
I would file this under “blog-whoring” rather than “spam.”

I don't mind it since it's just a comment
It’d be annoying if he created a FanPost™ for it.

Still riding that Lotzkar train.
