W-L ERA WHIP K BB
2008 - Ramon Ramirez 0-0 2.70 0.70 8 2

W-L ERA WHIP K BB
2008 - Jeff Suppan 10-8 4.56 1.49 80 60

Ramirez makes his second major league start tonight.  After going 7 innings against the Giants 10 days ago, it sure would be nice if we could get a similar performance tonight.

He'll hopefully have some help from a few other friends from Louisville, but with the way the Reds have been running veterans out there, who knows?  Personally, I'd like to see more of Adam Rosales.  Let him start for a week and maybe we'll have a better idea of whether or not he can be a good player for the bench next season.  I don't have my hopes up at this point that he'll get that shot though.

I can live with that

EdE needs to finish the year in the line up. If I am Sir Walter I’d also see if Phillips has any value during the off season if I wasn’t going to play him at shortstop

Gonna listen to a Radiohead show during tonight's game

Never listened to them before so hopefully they are good as advertised.

Daughter #2 just went to a live show by Radiohead....She said they put on a tremendous show.

D # 2 is 26 and she’s been following them for about 8 years. Video Killed The Radio Star is all I remember from them.

Can anyone make a reasonable argument as to why this team has Corey Patterson and Jolbert Cabrera both playing and batting first and second at this time of year?

the Sox hat says that you belong in Boston, that you’re not one of those “new folk” who don’t belong.

Basically, I’ve been in DC for the past few years, and I see a lot of both rebel flags and sox gear. And those are the people who immediately ask me “where are your people from?” and “what does your name mean in your language?” when they first see me. And are blown away by the fact that I’m a Reds fan, not like, a Saw-Ker fan. (ok, ok, I am a bit of a soccer fan. But the Reds have been my team since growing up in Indiana?)

4 new arms in the bullpen, let's run Burton out there again anyways

No win for Ram-Ram, 4 fresh arms sitting in the bullpen, thanks Dusty

the brewers announcer said:

“Votto is a great defensive 1st baseman, and still couldnt handle that one”

while he has made some athletic plays, he still makes mistakes especially on picks. EE to votto scares me a little….personally.

by sharks on Sep 9, 2008 11:20 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Bullshit

EdE is a much better 3B than Votto is a 1B

by BK on Sep 9, 2008 11:21 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

EE is what he is

he’s going to be wild throwing the ball from time to time. Votto is what he is too, he hasn’t shown me the ability to pick the ball very well. maybe he can improve on it

by sharks on Sep 9, 2008 11:22 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

nope

EE is a horrific 3b defensively. he makes spectacular plays, but his error count in off the charts. ugh, so is votto’s i’d wager.

That's the dumbest comment I've heard all year

Edwin leads the lead in errors at 3rd. He makes one or two webgems….when he’s paying attention….and all of a sudden he’s the next Scott Rolen.

by Dave from Louisville on Sep 9, 2008 11:23 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

How the hell do you hear that?

his throws blow and he makes retard plays from time to time. jeez i know this.

by sharks on Sep 9, 2008 11:25 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Whoa whoa whoa

When did I ever say that? He won’t win a GG, hell, he’s average at best right now. All I said is that he’s more valuable defensively at his position than Votto is at his, and I stick by that.

I think his range at 3B is very underrated

and if he gets his arm under control, he’s one of the better ones in the league. He’s wild at times with his arm, but I think he gets more than his fair share of the blame of this team’s defensive problems, especially with Dunn gone. I love how the uneducated Reds fans think EdE’s the worst 3B in Reds history, but are already penciling Keppinger in their 2009 lineups at SS. Ridiculous.

Keppinger's a bum too

Uneducated my ass…..http://www.redspitchfx.com/

And I quote, as of 8/18/08

3B – Edwin Encarnacion

Edwin ranked dead last of the top 50 3B by innings played at -27 plays. He was a whole 7 plays worse than the next worst guy. Ouch. A move off 3B could benefit the Reds big time.

by Dave from Louisville on Sep 9, 2008 11:31 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh, I understand the metrics just fine

I never said he was a gold glover. And honestly, I’d agree that he’d be more solid in LF or 1B, but there’s really nobody on the current team to replace him at 3B. I think we’re stuck with him there, and I think if we get that arm under control, he’ll be just fine. To once again clarify, I never called EdE a Gold Glover.

if he's at 3rd next yr

I wouldnt be against it. Mostly because his offense is actually fairly good compared to some teams. and yes i think he’s better offensively than keppinger.

guys with his range and athletisicm are hard to find. but we need a better solution there. i wish he would just quit making the easy errors.

Best record in the MLB since the All Star Break.
And have lost maybe 1 game in the last two weeks.

It’s pretty exciting for us.

but it’s Corey, and it’s the Reds bunting, so I’ll take it
