Well Played Menace
Wow, no matter how much I tried to put a good team out there, it just wasn’t happening for me.. I probably would have been better off if I hadn’t changed anybody all year. Oh well, better luck next year I hope. Thanks to all who played. Good job Menace and Lincoln.

i didn't know we were supposed to change rosters in the beer league...
and then i went and checked on it one day, and people had been doing all kinds of transactions!

Did we have a transaction cap this year?
We could impose a really low one, like 5, for next year.
But I tried to honor the spirit of the league by sticking mostly to draftees. Lincoln’s Logs just flat out scrapped their way down the stretch.

Really?
I thought it was for folks that don’t take Fantasy Baseball seriously and only tend to their team every couple of days not that there were limitations on transactions.
Madville lead the way in moves with 87. That is a move every other game! At least he was trying.

I had a lot of fun
running Veteran Presence. Apparently veteran presence does not win championships. Bummer. Congrats to Menace; she earned it.

And to be on topic for once
I had the “HolyShitThisIsBad” team, and it was easily the worst team I have ever had. I couldn’t make the draft and got stuck with some damned stiffs. It shocks the hell out of me that I didn’t finish dead last.

Menaceville is Title Town, USA once more
The dream that began in spring training came true tonight as Menace II Propriety captured the pennant, the franchise’s second in three years.
“This one feels even sweeter,” said GM Red Menace. “There aren’t many who have two of these.”
The title served as affirmation to team architect Menace, who began the year on the hot seat following a disappointing double-second place finish in 2007.
The champions’ emotions, long held in check during the season, erupted in a champagne fueled clubhouse. Players danced and sang along to David Bowie’s Life on Mars, which became an unlikely anthem following a team karaoke night in July.
“Again!”, shouted Lastings Milledge to Oliver Perez, who was acting as DJ. “I love this [song]!”

The team’s famed camaraderie was on display tonight, as it was all season. “We stuck together through it all,” declared Trevor Hoffman, the all time saves leader who finally has a ring to cap off his Cooperstown career.
According to reports the players voted to give a full championship share to phenom Jay Bruce, who was traded from the team in June, reacquired, then ultimately traded away in July. “Absolutely, we couldn’t have done it without Brucie,” said Chad Billingsley, summing up the group’s feelings. Players offered no comment as to whether similar respect would be paid to Juan Pierre.
The exciting 2008 season was dedicated to team owner Red Menace. The legendary industrialist, who purchased the franchise in 1962, was conspicuously absent from his box seat during much of the year. Rumors of his failing health abounded. As his team celebrated around him the octogenarian appeared frail but resolute, clutching the championship trophy. “This one’s for ‘Old Sport’,” said Ryan Braun. Menace thanked his left fielder, took one drag from his customary victory cigar then retired for the night. His second wife, Dakota Todd-Menace danced late into the night with players at nearby Club Onyx

As jubilant fans poured into the streets of Menaceville one man was already planning next year’s campaign. “It’s going to be quite the challenge to repeat”, said General Manager Red Menace, “but I promise we’ll be up to it.” Asked whether that meant rumors of his imminent departure to manage an investment banking firm on Wall Street were unfounded, Menace laughed. “I know better than to get involved in that [mess]. I’ve got a dynasty to build here.”

I don't know
Red Menace the owner looks a lot like Red Menace the manager. I think there is a bit of nepotism going on in that organization and I don’t think I can tolerate such activities.

What's going on here?
Red Menace (long my favorite for the Red’s Manger’s job) has been portrayed as both male and female…is this some kind of hermaphroditic joke….
All right fess up who are the females and who are the males RR.
Of course we know that Gay Jesus is a shemale.

BTW, I nominate Mads’ daughter’s pub as the location for this year’s RR playoff/WS get-together. Who’s in?

Nope.
This is the first year where I’m old enough to legally drink in public and there are no RR outings. Painful.

legally drink in public?
who cares. The real question is whether or not you are old enough to legally go into a bathroom stall with another man to smoke a “cigarette”?
