Game 160: Reds at Cardinals

If Arroyo and Harang can manage to not suck over the next two days, the Reds will complete their first season with 4 starters making 25+ starts and having an ERA under 5.00 since 1992. What's sad about that stat is that there are 10 teams that meet that qualification this season and 85 teams that have done it since the last time the Reds accomplished that feat. Folks, we've seen some bad pitching here over the last decade+.
Looper has owned the Reds recently, going 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA over his last 5 starts against them. He did however lose his last start against them as he surrendered 4 runs over 7 innings while Goodroyo only allowed 2 runs in 7 IP. I'd like to see more of that tonight.
Only three more of these bad boys left! Enjoy them while they're still here!

08 Starts
I read somewhere that when Pettyjohn starts Sunday it would be the 47th start by a rookie this season. Hopefully that experience will really start to pay off next season for Cueto. And I haven’t kicked Homer to the curb yet either. Hopefully next season is when the light goes on for the young man.

where is everybody?

Nope
I’m watching Yankees-Red Sox. :)
Honestly, I am so sick of politics. And I really don’t think either candidate is talking about the important issues, or even has a clue what they are.

Ahoy Red Reporters!
It’s rainy here, and I just got the new TV on the Radio album. It’s solidly okay.
I kind of wanted to watch the debate
My roomates are watching The Devil Wears Prada. I am up here following the game.

Two triples in one inning
What are the odds?
by Brendanukkah on Sep 26, 2008 9:54 PM EDT up reply actions
Ok, but what are the odds of having two men on third base with less than two outs
and only surrendering one run? For an inning with two triples, I’ll take that.

So
How’d we score that last run? Gameday says EdE singled, but was out at 1B.

Good news for battlekow and the Crew
The Brewers are winning and the Mets are losing (Philly is being rained out).
What's the story with all these triples?
Are our outfielders misplaying them? Or are they legit hits, just falling in the right places?

it has happened at least once this season

Lincoln's really been shaky down the stretch
Which is understandable since he hasn’t pitched in the last two years. I wonder if we bring him back next year. (I think we have to, since we’ll have enough other guys leaving the pen).

CoPa
took a bad route to the ball, did not set himself up to make a throw and then didn’t even try to throw him out. That was medium depth and a major leaguer should be able to make that throw
