Game 153: Reds vs Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds, Sep 19, 2008 7:10 PM EDT

You know, if Ramon Ramirez keeps pitching like he has, he might find himself pitching in the 5th spot in the rotation next season while Bailey and Thompson get sent to Triple-A (and I almost forgot Micah Owings). Not that I think that Ramirez is turning into a star, but it sure is nice to have so many options for next season's rotation already. Hopefully this means that the Reds won't be signing any Josh Foggs or Kirk Saarlooses.
This series is the Reds last chance this year to pay back the Brewers for 1999. What's weird is that I'm kinda rooting for the Brewers to make the playoffs (my NL rooting list goes DBacks, Brewers, Phillies right now). However, it sure would be sweet to get some redemption for the last time the Reds came close, but not close enough (2006 doesn't count since the Reds didn't deserve it anyway). It's nothing personal, battlekow. It's just business.

I’m going to the game tonight, and a little bummed that this may be my last chance (realistically) to see EdE in a Reds uniform, and he’s not playing. At least I can celebrate knowing that this will be the last time I see "K"orey, right? Right…?

I don't think so
At least not after Johnny was let go. It was well known that he needed to go. We just got extremely lucky to land a good/great pitcher out of the deal.

We’re all passed the point of “pissed off” and in the stage of “denial” and “shock”. Don’t think any of you aren’t welcome or anything because one guy jokingly invoked that he didn’t want to talk about Bill Hall. Only Cub fans aren’t welcome, Reds fans are fine. You guys certainly raise the quality of the less lively in-game threads.

Most of us fans who have been around more than one or two years have come to expect this kind of stuff. I assume you’re aware of the proceedings in Chicago yesterday. So yeah, some people get pissy, but what can you do.

Cubs fans are idiots
I like checking out other SBN sites (you may have noticed me over at BCB), but the average poster Blah Cubbie Blah is just such a mouth-breather. Never anything funny to say, rarely anything insightful to add about the game. They suck so much, but at least they generally leave our site alone. I’ve seen them on yours. It’s not pretty. he says stuff like “You guys are still complaining about that no-hitter?” (no one is) and then says the Brewers won’t make the playoffs for years. Give it up, folks. I’d hope there is a bit of a permanent peace treaty between posters at BCB and Red Reporter.
