First game is April 6th versus the Mets. Then three games versus Pittsburgh.
Inter-league games versus Toronto and Kansas City (away), Chicago White (home)Sox, and Cleveland.

oh yeah
joe randa played for the Reds. He basically netted us Eddie Guardado in a round about fashion, and i guess the Rheal Cormeir.

missed opportunity
“It was a mistake to move Randa. He was a guy who could have held down the third base spot for a few more years with solid play, leadership and for an affordable price.”(1)
Rather than trading him in ‘05 we should have signed him to an affordable 2-3 year extension for 2-3M a year. Just think he could be finishing up his Reds career right now. We wouldn’t be missing out on this production.

Pirates and Reds playing for division title in the last series of the season

The last time they opened the season that late was 1992
though they have opened on April 5th a couple of times since then.

This doesn't include 1995 when they started the season on April 26th because of the strike

Just like the previous time the season got a delayed start due to the 1990 lockout.
That worked out pretty well.

Only a few sad games left then all we'll have to is gnaw on our hopes and concerns for next year.

My wife is due on March 31, which is a Tuesday.
So I was okay with it being the day after opening day . . . an off-day. Now this uncertainty . . . I’ll see if I can get an April 7 opinion.

I've been wondering...
…what Andy Phillips was thinking, knocking up his wife in December. Not only does that mean the baby is born in September (he’ll miss the kid’s birthdays as long as he’s in baseball), it means poor Bethany has to be 8/9 months preggers in August. In Alabama. Surely that counts as spousal abuse?

What do I have to do to get Reds baseball on my birthday?
Let’s shift the season 2 days back, then I can celebrate my 23rd with a meaningless game between two out of contention teams. A dream come true.

The first road trip is 13 games?!
Since when does MLB regularly schedule 13-game road trips? It happens during natural disasters and scheduling conflicts with presidential conventions, but not just ’cause MLB feels like it.
There’s also an 11-game trip. In 2007, the Reds had six! road trips of 9 games or more.
I’m getting tired of the Man holding me down.
i think every team
can gnash their teeth at the scheduling czars for perceived shortcomings. i mean, how do you think the Marlins feel? they have to play half their games in Miami!
