Tom Browning 9-16-88
Fox Sports Ohio is showing the perfect game tonight. ANy one out there watching? So far Browning and Chris Welsh are talking about it with marty calling the game in the background. Pretty cool stuff. Plus it is old school Marty, before he lost it. I remember listening at work that night. It was raining in Cbus also so it was a slow night for us. Hopefully you guys get to catch some good Reds baseball. We certainly don't get enough of it anymore. Ahhh the good old days

Not me
Since I’m not in Ohio.
I’m watching the Pale Hose play the Yankees. It’s almost like watching the Reds. Last year’s Reds.
In the game: Ken Griffey Jr. (CF), Dewayne Wise (LF), Chad Moeller (the Yanks’ catcher).
The Yankees announcers are loving seeing Jr. play CF in Yankee Stadium. He made a really nice catch, and they said they were reminded of Willie Mays.

He didn't play CF
In fact, he didn’t play outfield at all. He DH’ed for all three games.
And CF is really special in the hearts of Yankees fans.

Yes, but Yankees fans' hearts are made of pure black.

Jr. is really playing a good CF tonight
Better than Bernie in his last years at Yankee Stadium. Griffey is getting really good jumps, and showing nice range. Robbed a couple of Yankees of what looked like sure hits.

I have lots of friends who have hearts that are pure black.

Too bad I wasn't even 2 years old when Browning weaved his magic that night
The Tom Browning I know gave me the finger for heckling him, walking back to the “clubhouse” after he was ejected, at a Florence Freedom game when they played in Hamilton in 2003.

My dad had tickets to that game and would have gone...
But the dog got sick and mom made him stay home… Looking back, that alone may have led to the divorce…

Man..not this sob story again Crolfs
Your Dad shoulda took the dog with him the Freedom game…fed him a couple of inexpensive draughts and they’d both would have come home feeling a whole lot better.
You can tell your uncle stuff that you could not tell your dad. That is kind of the role of an uncle. I feel very much like a father sometimes but sometimes I feel like a teammate.

On Direct TV Fox Sports Ohio, I’ve got The Best Damn Hooters Pageant Period. Did I miss it already? Stupid eastern time zone.

I got Tom Browning's autograph today.
He was doing a signing at the kroger in Union, and I happened to be there!

That's awsome.
I was at the game for Browning’s 20th win in 1985. I was 9 and had no idea, but I remember my dad saying “we didn’t see Pete get the hit record, but we did see Browning win his 20th game!” And I see now that it was against Mike Scott.

Scuffer Scott.
He seemed to be Roy Oswalt to the Reds before Roy Oswalt. I never liked seeing the Reds face him. Of course, I always detested the Astros for playing little ball with a heaping helping of luck thrown in back in those days.
