Ryan Hanigan
Hanigan

Triple-A: Drew T. Anderson homered and Ryan Hanigan was 5 for 5 in Louisville's 8-4 win. Adam Rosales, Chris Dickerson and Danny Richar each had 2 hits, and Carlos Fisher and Daniel Ray Herrera combined for 5 strikeouts. Hanigan's batting average is up to .323 with a respectable .808 OPS. The Bats, by the way, have won 8 of 9, are 8 games ahead of Toledo for first place in the International League West and are 23 games over .500 (71-48).

Danny Dorn

Double-A: The Lookouts blew a 7-2 lead in the 2nd inning and lost 18-16. Lots of hits to go around: Danny Dorn had 2 homers, Sean Henry, Chris Valaika and Justin Turner had 2 hits each and Drew Stubbs was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Despite all the scoring, Ramon Geronimo extended his earned-run-less streak.

High A: Juan Francisco homered in Sarasota's 6-5 loss. Logan Parker was 2 for 4. Francisco is tied for second in the Reds' system with Brandon Waring and Todd Frazier at 17. Dorn has 18 total homers.

Low A: Neftali Soto was 2 for 5 in Dayton's 2-1 loss. Jeff Jeffords, fresh off his unsuccessful double-promotion, suffered the loss in this one, too.

Rookies: Juan Duran was 0 for 3 in the D-Reds' loss.

I bet if we sent Corey Patterson down

That Bats lead would evaporate before you could say, ”’K’orey! LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!11”

You mean...

...this Corey Patterson?

Interesting that his

BA, OBP, and SLG are so close to each other. Somehow he hit a lot more singles in AAA…

I think we overmeet as a society.

A shout out to all of us with small children

Uniqua and Tyrone are definitely my favorite two.

Is it me or

Does Hanigan look like a joyous Dunner?

1st Cincinnati Reds Player: These guys don't look so tough.
2nd Cincinnati Reds Player: Yeah, that's what Custer said when the Indians took the field.

more like joy-less

but yeah, I can see a resemblence. Which is funny, because Hanigan looks nothing like Will Ferrell.

...because there's already someone posing as Jacob Brumfield

Well,

Your own blog not only features no new content, there’s actually less content than there was a couple days ago.

How can such a good looking man be so bad at getting to first base?

Looking at the Bats Box Score

Chris Dickerson got pulled in the 8th inning for a Right Handed hitting Pinch Hitter. At the time there was a righty on the mound so it wasn’t a situation you usually would make that change in the DH spot.

Maybe Dickerson is getting the call today?

Dickerson left the game due to a headache.

because i can't reply, i have to do it down here

jch) The same thing happens in maxthon, internet explorer, and firefox. do you have another browser to suggest?

Brendan) My blog got wiped out but godaddy.com’s fraud department. it took them over a day to get it reinstated. now I can’t access it from work, so i haven’t had the opportunity to do anything with it. Godaddy.com sucks, and everythings seems to be going wrong at the moment.

Opera maybe?

And I have no idea how you’re having so many issues. Does it happen at home, work, or both?

Slyde

Is it time to add Hanigan to Dickerson and Rosales for call-ups. I mean in LLM, A Phil, and CoPat really the long term solution.

Maybe we could send all three plus Fogg for Spilboroughs? Haha, oh yeah the Rockies don’t have enough room for that kind of SHIT!

by kennythered on Aug 7, 2008 1:11 PM EDT   0 recs

llm, a phil and copat are not long-term solutions

neither are Ranigan, A-Rose or C-Dick.

What do you mean, "blank slate"?

by boobs on Aug 7, 2008 1:19 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

how does it feel?

to argue for those three fools? hhaah

Come on now these guys deserve a shot at the ML level. They have proven they can produce at the AAA and havent been given a chance in the ML’s. Where as the other three have proven they can no longer produce at the ML level and they are washed up.

I’m not clamoring for Dickerson to be our CF of the future but goodness I would rather see him in the field than Patterson!

by kennythered on Aug 7, 2008 2:35 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

i agree that they deserve a shot

but these guys have all had several years in the minors to prove themselves and have been solid though not spectacular. they’re not going to be difference makers, but yeah, i’d probably rather see dickerson and hanigan than valentin and patterson.

What do you mean, "blank slate"?

You might wanna get that checked out by a Dr.

I don't see Dickerson as a long term solution but..

Until he has a chance to play some at the ML level I’ll not know anymore than I do now about this kid’s ability to adjust… Give him a shot..FTH

You can tell your uncle stuff that you could not tell your dad. That is kind of the role of an uncle. I feel very much like a father sometimes but sometimes I feel like a teammate.

Backyardigans

If my two year old could read, he would appreciate the title of this diary.

by bobestes on Aug 7, 2008 7:23 PM EDT   0 recs

If my two year old could read, I'd have him all over the TV seeing if I can make some money off of him

All I’ve ever done was be Juan Pierre," he said. "I don’t know why, for some reason, they’re just sticking it to me this year."

by Slyde on Aug 7, 2008 7:37 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

appropos of nothing

two year olds are so awesome. love it.

by bobestes on Aug 7, 2008 7:43 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

appropos of nothing, pt 2

as far as adult watchability, backyardigans is the best. He loves it, but it’s not like I want to rip my eyes/ears out. It’s silly, it’s cute, it’s fun, it’s watchable.

Whereas Go Diego, Go! is the worst piece of shit in the world. I can’t watch 10 minutes of that without wanting to kill myself. It’s just so boring and repetitive and stupid, and he absolutely loves it. Dora is marginally better.

But the best of the best is Sesame Street. Like fine wine.

by bobestes on Aug 7, 2008 7:50 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I prefer Diego over Dora

but we’ve wondered off of Noggin lately. Been watching more PBS when we even watch TV. He’s really digging on Seasame Street lately.

All I’ve ever done was be Juan Pierre," he said. "I don’t know why, for some reason, they’re just sticking it to me this year."

Dude, you cannot go wrong with curious George

My kid don’t speak english and he can relate totally!
