Game 115: Reds vs Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers @ Cincinnati Reds

I have very little confidence in Bailey right now. I also have very little confidence in the offense scoring off of Jeff Suppan. So, I guess you could say I'm not too confident in a win today. Sigh.

I sent out a request for help from SB Nation several hours ago, and they still havent’ gotten back to me. I had this problem before, and they never answered, but it seemed to auto correct

Homer will kindle our spirits today
and will show us why we should be excited about our rotation next year. he’ll give up 4 hits and K 8 over 6.1 innings. and Suppan will leave the game in the 3rd because he will be embarrassed when it is revealed that he is wearing girl’s underpants.

Or those of Dusty's daughter...
heard that Corey Patterson (29 years old) was dating Dusty’s daughter, Natosha (28 years old i think)...
You have to take it with a grain of salt, given the source, but I’ve heard Tracy and Eddie talk about this before a few times. It’s not like they’re reputable sources, either, but it kind of makes you wonder…

seeing Jolbert Cabrera in the lead-off spot just bangs home how bad this team is.
He is neither fast nor can he get on base. Lead him off!

honestly
im more upset that he is playing SS. he’s a freaking corner outfielder!! the willingness of our manger to trot out insufficient defenders at the most valuable defensive position is absolutely galling.

I know that Jocketty wanted to use these last two months
to see what an outfield of Dunn, Hairston, and Bruce could do. Would it really be so much of a stretch to see what an infield of Phillips at SS and Kepp at 2B can do? There are reasons why you wouldn’t want to make Phillips switch positions in the middle of a season, but somehow I think the main reason that Dusty wouldn’t make the change is because it would mean he’d have to bat his cleanup hitter in the leadoff slot.

Still hasn’t proven he is an everyday player. I like him, love his versatility, and hope he can come back strong and give us 3 days a week next season but I don’t think he is the 3rd starting outfielder the Reds need, especially if Dunn takes a hike.

Agreed him
He’s a lot like Freel, only dialed down a notch. Good as a top of the order utility guy, but you don’t necessarily want to depend on him to be a starter.

or bat him second
For some reason, it would give me great joy to see Phillips move to SS and then bat 2nd that same day. Pavlov couldn’t have designed a better experiment.
BTW, I find it odd that Phillips, who clearly is an excellent athlete, has been the least moved player in the batter order this season. Seems like if he was supposed to be the next Barry Larkin, he would be used in a much more flexible manner. And this is a knock on Dusty, not Phillips, who I’m sure would bat wherever they asked him to, as long as it was 4th or higher.

...and add to this
the fact that Andy Phillips is most likely a better SS than Cabrera, and he doesnt get a shot. i know its just quibbling with minor roster moves, but it seems like Dusty cant even get the basic things right.
